And by armies, I mean a) painted & b) ARMY, not a skirmish force of 20 men. I know these can differ quite a bit, but we all know an army when we see one!

I have 4 armies, all 25/28mm :

I feel your pain and am in a pretty much the same situation permanently. With fairly minor work, I suppose I'd be able to muster what could be called a Wh40k Eldar army I could field in our own "club" at least.

Oddly enough, as I've never actually played a space combat game (other than some space themed boardgames), I've got pretty decent sized space fleets for both sides of the conflict in "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" universe. Oh I should say everything I own is painted except of the stuff that arrived last week (80 Germans, 10 allied vehicles and some stowage packs).

I've got a fully-painted Skaven army for Warhammer Fantasy that runs about 230 figures. After that I've just got partially-painted skirmish forces of 28mm pirates, some GW Lord of the Rings armies, and a few other odds and ends.

Currently working on a Warhammer Fantasy Orcs and Goblins army to match up against my Skaven.

6mm Napoleonic – @ 1:20 – French IV Corps, 1809, Austrian 6th Korps 1809, Peninsular Brits, 3 divs plus supports.

6mm WW2 – at 1 stand = 1 platoon. Whole of Guards Armoured Division, and Germans to match.

20mm WW2 – British brigade, tank support, and German Kampfgruppe of roughly equal strength.

28mm ACW, just starting, 4 units @ 1:20.

Oddments of undeveloped projects – 1/1200 Napoleonic Naval, 28mm Napoleonic skirmish, 20mm WW2 Russians, 28mm ECW.

Well, once you said 'painted' I am forced to admit I have no armies. Unpainted, I have quite a few with more being added as time goes by.

If it isn't painted, based, and ready to put on the table and play, it isn't an army. It's just a bunch of figures.

Bk 2: Ancient Spanish, Sarmatian.
Bk 3: Italian Ostrogothic, Khazar, and sufficient figures to do any Muslim army.
Bk 4: Mongol Conquest, HYW English, Swiss.

DBR (all 500 AP+)
Swiss (same as above, obviously ;), Ottoman Turk, French Huguenot, Polish-Lithuanian Rzeczpospolita.

SYW (WRG 1685-1845)
Anglo-Hanoverian (about 2500+ pts). Similar-pointed French army is half-painted.

4-5 unpainted armies spread over above periods.

25/28mm:
WAB:
Thematic Byzantine (2k), Pagan Rus/Viking (2.5k), Almoravid (5k+, all options), Seleucid (6k+ and growing :P). Swiss (4k) currently on painting table.
3 unpainted classical period armies in boxes.

Disposable Heroes:
Two platoons of ETO GIs with various support elements, plus a couple of AFVs.

Painted to unpainted ratio: about 2 to 1 for microscale and 15mm, 1 to 2 or 3 for 25/28mm.

I'd like to get a Wars Of The Roses army from Peter Pig but two things put me off. The longbows look like barge poles (a pity as it's an otherwise excellent range, his Russian Civil War stuff, of which I have hundreds are superb also), and the expenditure as I'm getting married next year and that costs money. I've become a responsible, dull adult at 42 lol.

I still want one though……really, really WANT one!!!!
