Hey all, anybody know if the Lord Of The Rings Moria Goblins would go well with 1/72 scale plasctic medievals as Orc? (size wise, not period flavor
) Thanks |

Probably. They are the same height as most 25/28mm goblins. They are much better roportined, though, so would make good orcs. |

Goblin factory might be another choice as well. In fact, you could use Goblin Factory as Orcs and LotR Goblins as Uruk Hai
since they have all the nifty plate armor. |

Here's a comparison of Italeri (I think) figures and GW goblins. link I've also got some goblins mounted on wolves (from Iron Wind Metals wolf pack, which comes with 7). The goblins like wide stances, so aren't hard to mount. But the wolves might be too big for 1/72. Unless you decide wargs are big. I've got a couple toy plastic cavemen in the box with the medievals. I figure they're trolls. andy |

That looks to me like they are decent 1/72 Orcs. The old Ral Partha Orcs (Great Goblins) are roughly the same size as well, and in the same sort of crouch
I have done a few of them for Wolf-Riders for my Moria/Misty Mountain/Gundabad armies (remember, wolf-riders are different from Wargs.. Wolf-Riders: Goblins/Small Orcs on Dire Wolves; Warg-Riders: Orcs on Andrewsarchus Mongoliensis). And
Nuh-uh.. The GW Goblins are not the same size as their (GW's) Orcs
The Orcs are noticeably taller than the Goblins. |

Ceaser Miniatures just release a box of 1/72nd plastic orcs, if that helps. |

Does Iron Wind Metals still produce the old 1979 Goblins and 'Great Goblins'? I think the old smaller goblins would be ideal for 1/72 |

Andy Skinner. I also bought some old Marx and Timmee cavemen to use as trolls! These are going to fight my historical Viking and Saxon armies in 'Legendary Saga/Epic Poetry' conflicts. |

Although Caesar Miniatures' historicals are beautiful, I feel that the fantasy are samplers, rather than armies. Maybe it has to be that way, but I'm not excited about them. There are other Dark Ages or Medieval 1/72 that would look better than the Italeri figures I showed, as well. The size matches up in that scan, but the style seems pretty different. andy |

Hrothgar, Unfortunately, No
Ral Partha Europe does produce some of them (I wish that they would get to he Goblin-Imp wolf-riders. They only have a couple of them, but need all six that were produced. Of course, the larger Goblin Wolf-Riders are probably a better size for the lotR stuff. |
