I found this quote in a thread about RatTrap's Fantastic Worlds. I believe the writer is talking about RT's .45 Adventures: Mikhail Lerementov 16 Jun 2008 4:01 a.m. PST
Let me add that I didn't hold out much hope for these rules when I first picked them up, but they were the only pulp rules on the market. I do not know what planet ML is from, but I find his statement to be anywhere but at the truth. RT's pulp gaming rules are very good, but they are not the only show in town. I own these rules as far as what is out there for Pulp gaming: Adament Entertainment's Thrilling Tales, Steve Jackson's GURPS Cliffhangers, RatTrap's .45 Adventures and all of the connected books, Evil Hat's Spirit of the Century, Exile Games' Hollow Earth Expedition, Fantasy Games' Daredevils, Hero Games' Pulp Hero, Precis Intermedia's Two Fisted Tales, Pinnacle Entertainment's Savage Worlds, TSR's Gangbusters, Pulp Figures' Rugged Adventures TSR's The Adventures of Indiana Jones West End's The World of Indiana Jones, Deep 7's Dime Heroes, Battlefield Press' Pulp Fantasy, Better Mousetrap's Boomtown Planet – Saturday Edition, Dilly Green Bean's Pulp Era That does include WOTC's d20's Past, which I do not own yet, and there is another company with a free rules set out there on the WEB that I cannot think of. Does anyone else know of any other Pulp gaming rules sets? |

That seems to be a fair number I missed. A great many Fantasy Pulp games in your list. That is probably why I did not think of them. I forgot about WW's contribution to the genre. That is probably due to a personal philosophical difference with their product and message. That is just me though. No reason whatsoever to pursue that here in this thread please; if someone wants, take it over to TMP Plus. Is there not another Pulp game called Astounding Tales? If yes, who makes it? Thank you IronMammoth for posting the Noir games separate. All the gamers I know personally keep those as a separate, but related genre. Any more out there folks? |

'Astounding Tales!' is Howard Whitehouse's contribution to the world's need for pulp rules. 'Chainmail Bikini' is his effort to bring glistening pectorals of both genders to the same audience (although he keeps getting sidetracked) |

I do not know what planet ML is from, but I find his statement to be anywhere but at the truth. I live on the planet you don't. Earth. I perhaps should have state COMMERCIALLY available at the time I purchased them. The TSR stuff was long out of print, Gurps Cliffhangers isn't a set of rules, FGU was out of print until 2006,and none of the others had been published at the time I bought .45 Adventure. Since .45 Adventure was published in 2005 and none of the other now available ones were published until after 2005, my statement is much closer to the truth than yours. You lost the argument on the other board. Please stop following me from thread to thread and making insinuations about my veracity. Continue to do so, and I will complain to the management. |

Mikhail, what in the world are you talking about? I lost something? Sure I lost a key chain of keys here in the house a few months back. Did you find them for me? I just checked seven of the game systems I provided and they were all published before 2005 in some prior edition; four were published just in 2003-2005. Plus the the TSR, West End and other OOP rules sets that were published before 2005 were indeed available for purchase in 2005; thet are available for purchase new now in 2008 even if one is not lazy and looks for them. Mikhail, do you only shop at a Hobbytown or some store like that? Shoot, I did not get my copies of Gangbusters till three months ago. UGH! As far as GURPS guy, gee, one must buy the main rule book and the Cliffhangers supplement, and golly gee whillerkers, that would be a set of Pulp game rules. UGH!! Mikhail, you are just angry that Rocky and I are stomping on your small science knowledge elsewhere and that you were just plain wrong here. Get a real excuse next time Mikhail. UGH!!! |
