Does anyone remember a hex based US army v. giant ants game that appeared in a very early issue of Miniature Wargames (issue 2?).

I'm trying to track it down.

Thanks

Jim

I'm working on just such a game but I'm just playing Starship Troopers and swapping out the modes. Ants become warrior bugs and US soldiers become mobile infantry…

The "Them" game shows up at Historicon every year. A beautiful layout, set in the sewers, always draws big crowds.

Any links to photos of the sewer set up?

SJ Games discontinued their Giant Ants. That was a great shame.

I've got ants for sale:

They are big – towering over a 25mm soldier as in teh movie "Them!"

I've run my Us vs THEM! game in 1:72 scale several times at DC area conventions: a NOVAG con and the last TriaDCon. Giant ants pop up out of antholes that start opening up at random (i.e., good old toss of a 4-sided die over the shoulder) all over a small 1950's desert town. The townspeople scramble to gather their families and fight their way out of town while waiting for the Army to arrive. The players seem to get a big kick out of it.

I've done Giants Ants using Black Tree's old Doctor Who range ants – very good fun.

I would love to see pics of the sewer game

I do not remember her name, but a lady at SJG I spoke to a little while back said they were just between production cycles on the Ants.
She said they should have more soon.
