The local Targets have clear plastic rain-gauges for $1. USD Flip them upside down and epoxy part of your flying vehicles display stand or such on top of that and you get: link These are Forces of Valor Blackhawks (1/72). This method will work ok for 10mm diecast fighters such as those from the Hasbro Titanium line but might look a bit odd in smaller scales. The second pic just has the stand sitting on a wooden terrain tile for better balance. I am very protective of my FOV helis. You could
with effort
bump the table hard.and topple the choppers which would stink. If I recall correctly the stands are about a foot tall. They are even graduated
being rain guages and all. |

You might be able to do 28mm stuff by basing the gauge on a clear cd spacer from a recordable cd spindle. It would still be clear (use epoxy there too) and that would give the structure the extra support to hold the heavier models. |

Tons of ways to do it. Easiest is an upside down plastic disposable cup (clear, brittle plastic) or the champagne flute variety of same available from party stores. Better are weights like large hex-nuts with the centers filled with plaster and a piano wire, acryllic, or wood dowel to support the mini. Finally, best is Topgunace's stuff, but they're a bit pricey for me. |

by the way, yoiu ought to search TMP for flight stands or aircraft bases or such. The subject has been rehashed twenty or so times, with lots of ideas. Jim |
