Can anyone recommend any reading that covers Cathcart's 'useless expedition' to Hanover in 1805?

Only Fortescue's "History of the British Army."

Sir William Schaw Cathcart, 1755- 1843 and the Battle of Munkaiser – there appears to be room for further research in this area! <;^}

"there appears to be room for further research in this area! <;^}"

There most certainly does! A Google search brought up one reference to the Battle of Munkaiser, and I'm now reading through reams of text to find what I suspect to be a mention in passing! ;-) (Oh well, ce n'est pas magnifique, maid c'est la vie!)

I found a few items. Use "1805 Hanover Expedition" as a google search to get the names of persons involved in expedition – then expand search from there – Good Luck Steve
