Sweet!

Thanks for the find

astronomican10 Apr 2008 9:04 a.m. PST

An excellent find – the 'German' version of GW's Praetorian troops!

AzSteven10 Apr 2008 9:13 a.m. PST

Oh man, I so could have used those in my VSF RPG campaign a couple of years ago!

Jay Arnold10 Apr 2008 9:30 a.m. PST

Ooh, I've seen these before. Thanks for the reminder!

Commodore Wells 110 Apr 2008 9:32 a.m. PST

Used selectively, one or two of them would make perfect experimental weapons for VSF. A whole unit of them would probably be a bit much in a VSF setting though.

CmdrKiley10 Apr 2008 9:44 a.m. PST

Make some good alternate Bauhaus figures for Warzone too.

CmdrKiley10 Apr 2008 9:48 a.m. PST

too bad this one was 54mm…He'd make a good fig for some of my zombie games.

Very nice indeed. I can definitely see those battling Kroot to Thark conversions on Barsoom.

nazrat10 Apr 2008 11:03 a.m. PST

Those are neat! It's always cool to actually see something that's been around for a while and that is still new to me.

PapaSync10 Apr 2008 11:26 a.m. PST

Man I'm surprised that GW hasn't sent the layers after them yet?

Monstro10 Apr 2008 11:51 a.m. PST

Now follow the trail from 'Master' and you'll find some sculpts waiting to be made, theres even some 'iron legion' space romans there.

The Gonk10 Apr 2008 11:53 a.m. PST

I don't see anything actionable there. GW doesn't own VSF. The Schnellfeuerkanone may look kinda sorta like a heavy bolter, but it's hardly a rip-off.

Off course, that doesn't mean GW can't use a lawsuit anyway.

terrain sherlock10 Apr 2008 12:26 p.m. PST

I want some.. they in the US..?

Devil Dice10 Apr 2008 12:34 p.m. PST

The fact that they have "pointy bits" is clearly an infringement .

Lord Billington Wadsworth Fezian10 Apr 2008 12:49 p.m. PST

GW has rights on taking historical figures and adapting them to fit their fantasy or science fiction universes. Anyone else attempting to do so is an infringement.

Lord Billington Wadsworth Fezian10 Apr 2008 12:49 p.m. PST

(that was tongue in cheek if anyone misreads it ;>)

mweaver10 Apr 2008 2:19 p.m. PST

Interesting. Hadn't seen them before, so thanks for the link.

Rogzombie Fezian10 Apr 2008 3:26 p.m. PST

GW cant do a thing about these. First of all there are no skulls on these that I could determine. Secondly their weaponry is very different.

The only similarity is the troop types, that which is a blatant rippoff, lol!!!!!

They are really cool, but not quite what I'm looking for.
I do hope others will do this sort of thing as well. Many choices would be nice.

castellan10 Apr 2008 6:22 p.m. PST

Wow! These look great!
If only they hav a US Retailer.

AonghusONia10 Apr 2008 7:38 p.m. PST

the officers with the mechanical arm look great. It would be awesome to be able to just buy the arm as a bit saw off the arm of a miniature & add that. The sholder pad would hide the mess. Perfect to give that VSF touch to one figure in a unit.

streetline11 Apr 2008 5:05 a.m. PST

I'm not sure GW would wish to bring some of their imagery to the attention of a German court… :)

Dewbakuk11 Apr 2008 10:33 a.m. PST

Apparently some of the names and writings in the books don't appear in the German versions due to their laws.

J Womack 9411 Apr 2008 7:15 p.m. PST

Interesting info about GWs image problems in Germany.

Better minis, though! Man, I love these. Piss on the Mordians, I have got to get my hands on some of these for the Kaiserlich Forshcungsanstalt fur Geheimewaffen, better known to you and me as the Imperial Research Institute for Secret Weapons.

Hey, could any real German speakers double check my naming for me? Does it make sense in German or is it just silly?

MahanMan11 Apr 2008 9:02 p.m. PST

Wow. Just…wow. Maybe I should ask my friend currently stationed in Germany to pick some of these up for me…

Tym Corbett14 Apr 2008 1:29 p.m. PST

woud ike to know if any one gets some and how they got on with mail order
Thanks

trooper15322 Apr 2008 7:32 a.m. PST

For an order to the us just send a list of what figures you want to Martin Hille, the owner of the site. His English is a bit better than my German, but we were able to make ourselves understood by the other. Here is his reply to my question about shipping costs to the US.

"Hello, the price of the dispatch (shipping) lies between 13 (to 1000g) and 33 (to 5000g). Hence, I must exactly know which figures how often are wished. Then I can name exactly the price. Please, with this order not about the shop go, but by email get ready: kellerkind.miniaturen@web.de."

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Brian
