Well, I ordered this Tuesday afternoon from Armies in Plastic (AIP). The owner was very friendly and talked with me about his upcoming Naval Landing Party release. He also said that he will be releasing Zulu's and the 24th Foot. The package arrived Thursday. He charges flat shipping for the large playsets (12 dollars) and 8 dollars for the smaller packs.

The Fort playset comes with 60 figures. 20 British, 20 Indian and 20 Afghan warriors. The deal allows you to chose 3 more boxes of troops. I selected 3 more sets of Afghan warriors (each has 20 figures in it). All of this is $49.99 USD plus shipping.

The Fort is a hard plastic. Each wall is 18 inches long. There is a flag stand, ladder and moveable front gates with a swinging latch. Their are facdes that snap into the inside of each wall section to give it a more appropriate arcitechtural appearance of the region. They also make a French Foreign Legion Fort playset.

I was completely impressed with their service. I also LOVE the figures. The fort is very nice although the outer walls are fairly plain. However, I think that I will spray them with fleckstone paint to give it more texture. The fort was incredibly easy to put together. It snaps into place.

They also have a buy 3 boxes get the 4th free sale going on. I plan on getting at least 4 more boxes for the NWF. Then I will spring for the FFL set plus more boxes. These are incredible value. My playset included an extra 12 figures for free. I can't praise this product enough! I will certainly become a repeat customer.

They also make WW1, Naps, AWI, ACW, Boxer Rebellion, Sudan, RCW and soon Zulu War figs.

I echo John's comments…totally impressed with every facet of AIP…from its fort/figures to customer service.

And the nice thing…you don't have to paint…just play with your fave rule set(s)!

Yes, I always thought these Fort sets were a great value also. I almost got the FFL one, but decided to scratchbuild my FFL outpost in 25mm. However I might be interested in the AIP 24th Foot and Zulus when they come out. I really liked the poses in the Conte Zulu range, but did not care for the soft rubbery plastic. I like the harded plastic used for the AIP figures.

Looks like a nice playset actually.

Funny thing is I already have 2 FFL forts. One is the old Airfix the other is an old Gallia one that is 15mm but works for 1/72 just fine. I have a bunch of plastic and metal figs for it but that 1/32 stuff just stirs my blood more!

Thanks,

John

Forgot to mention that my boys both give it two thimbs up for cool play value. They have been taking turns fighting battles with it since I set it up Thursday. Just like their Dad.

:-)

Thanks,

John

I spent the afternoon sorting through the stuff from I picked up at the Indy show last Sunday. The highlight for me was 3 more boxes of AiP Boxers. AiP just keeps rolling the good stuff out. I heard a rumor that they are gonna have around 20 new releases this year!

John, be sure to try and make it over to Columbus on October 19, for our toy soldier show. Loads of good plastic there.
