How are you guys storing your 1/600 models? I've been spending a fair bit of time rigging mine, and I just don't see a good storage solution for, say, a fully rigged and detailed "Hartford". This question goes double for those of you who don't base your ships. |

I use magnetic foil on the bottom of the bases and keep the ships in a metal tool chest for transport. Got the idea from a buddy of mine, and it works great. I've never had a problem with them tipping over or fouling the rigging. Matt |

I use cardboard boxes. For something like the hartford a foam 'frame' that fits around the base and keeps the hull imobilized helps protect the rigging from being damaged. |

Mounted on Bass wood base with a sheet magnet across the whole bottom. Stored in a Sears steel tool chest. The top of the tool chest is plenty high enough for the rigging (I've got 2 Hartfords, Kearsarge, Alambama, Stonewall and others) and the magnet on the bottom of the base keeps the figure from moving around. |

Mine are rigged too (and not based): I don't travel very often (last time was to a hobby show in 2003) with mine. I keep them on a shelf in my wargame room – I'm lucky enough to have ample miniature storage shelves behind glass. -- Tim |

Mine are all in a glass-fronted display cabinet and am lucky that the club gaming venue is mainly at my place. I'm not sure how I'd transport them if I had too – plenty of packing I'd guess! |

This is one of the reasons I switched to 10mm ships. The bigger ships are easier to handle and repair, just in case. |
