Does anyone have products from this maker??? Can they scale to GW Fantasy???

Lowtardog01 Apr 2008 4:39 p.m. PST

They are very much compatible with the GW Lotr ranges, lovely highly detailed and realistically proportioned figures

They will not scale with GW's Warhammer fantasy line though. But, you're better off getting the ebob stuff since it is SO much nicer.

I've got a couple of Ebob's figures, and they're great – excellent detail. He's the best new sculptor I've seen in quite a while, and it's been fun to watch him going from sculpting fan stuff on the various LoTR forums to watching him turn out excellent professional grade figures and have his own company.

His stuff is compatible with GW's LoTR line, or Foundry historicals, but a little small for Warhammer.

I am thinking using them as bretonnian mounted yeoman…

Yes, another hearty endorsement here for Ebob's work. It fits in quite splendidly with GW's LOTR range as mentioned, and all his work is quite characterful. Also, he is a really great guy to deal with, who really loves what he does. A class act all around.

Well, sorry to say this but, I have an absolute pile of the Scottish clansmen and they are compatible with nothing on the planet as far as I know.

As everyone says they are very nicely sculptured figures, and very very realisticaly proportioned, but unfortunately nothing else is at 28mm.

I would say the best analogy I can make is they are like a 1:72 plastic figure compared to 25mm metals. They really do look like tall 1:72 scale figures.

1/1.5mm short (which is not so bad) but massively light in bulk.

I havent got any of the newer mounted figures so I cant say whether these are different but the early stuff is not even remotely compatible with GW (they arent even big enough to be compatible with Foundry for that matter).

I use Ebobs sculpting dollies and horses- Ebob is always a pleasure to deal with

I imagine they would work well with Tom Meier's stuff then?

I don't have any, but I'd guess they might work well with Perry minis, which are slimly built.

This is something I have read before and wondered about. EBob's (really great) horses are being used with a number of the larger 28mm lines (e.g. Musketeer, Artizan, etc.) for their mounts and those figures are definitely larger than Foundry 28s.

I have some of the horses and they seem much too large to use with Foundry riders, much more in proportion to GB and larger? Yet everyone seems to say EBob's infantry is quite small for 28mm?

It's true re the EBob horses being larger; I'm using some Crusader/EBobs Numidian horses in a unit with some A&A, GB and Foundry Numidian horses, and the EBobs are the biggest by some margin (although they do fit in with the others nicely when painted).

They are well sculpted IMHO, certainly better than the GB and somewhat better proportioned than A&A; more slender and graceful.

Anyone has photo Ebob´s horses with some GW´s ??? especially bretonnians… I have been trying to get some replacement of the mounted yeoman, I like Gamezone´s knights, they are terrific but a little expensive, so I may try Perry´s Crusaders or HYW, is a bit more afordable…

altfritz02 Apr 2008 7:18 p.m. PST

Gamezone are huge. Did you see the comparison pics posted the other day?

lemmor7602 Apr 2008 7:59 p.m. PST

I do have many Gamezone´s, I am using them for the grail knights, some yeoman and several boar riding orcs, and I will probably buy the annoited chaos knights, chaos chariot and the dark elves Cold ones, knights and chariots, even if I never do those armies…
