When I first started micro armour gaming in the early 80's in the US there was GHQ & CinC and later in the late 80's InServiceMiniatures, Mainforce Miniatures and some company P something, I want to say PMC but I could be wrong(need your help on that one, they also produced Gatlinc space minis if that helps) and as for British companies there was H&R,Skytrex,Irregular and later Scotia. Somebody told me MiniFigs did micro armour, but I have never found or seen any myself and would love to see a print out of what WW 2 items they produced. I know there was one othe British company that Irregular Minitures picked up the molds from and started producing those vehicles themselves. Are there any other companies I might have missed? look forward to your input and help.

PMC? PFC is the same at CinC… "Gatlinc" doesn't ring a bell.

There was Chris Croissant, with Croissant Miniatures, but thats was just another name for ISM.

There was/is PewterCraft.

Here's a link for PFC-CinC (this company was definitely around in the 70s and 80s):

"Are there any other companies I might have missed?"

Leicester Micro Models, the original 'blob of lead with a pin for a gun barrel' type vehicles. I've still got loads of those. They were mid 70s though.

PMC was a company all its own though I think Pewter Craft is how they went by. PFC I know is now CinC, but PMC was a US company that did some less detailed micro armour and was the only company at the time to do British Cruiser tanks such as the A 13 and artillery version along with German Sdkfz 10 with 5cm ATG mounted. hope that helps ring a bell.David, the resin Italian APC's are WW 2 items? or modern?

Leicester Micro models were definitely early 70's. I was at university in Loughborough until 1972 and I bought some of his earliest stuff while still there so it can't have been later than May 1972.

Rough by today's standards maybe but recognisable certainly. Some of the models were quite good and they were very cheap, even for 1972.

Mmm, showing my age then. Yes, they probably were early 70s on reflection.

I still use some of the softskins…

oceanway14 Mar 2008 1:37 p.m. PST

The Zodiac stuff was modern.
I think I picked up the South
African Ratel,Austrian tank
destroyer(Kurassier),Lion OF40
MBT,and I think a Japanese SP.
The APC was the Italian version of the M113 and it is the best of the lot.Sadly,no
one has made much Italian or
Austrian stuff.I know C/C does
the 4F4K APC and Navwar does an Italian APC and Centauro TD.I have requesting the Uhlan/Pizzarro APC and Ariete
MBT but I don t think it s
gonna happen.

Leicester is now picked up by Irregual miniatures I believe. I think they bought the molds and are doing those models under there name.Trafalgar and Panzwrwerk, did they do WW 2 micro armour or just ships? If armour I would love to see what they did, do you have a print out for them?

green beanie14 Mar 2008 5:45 p.m. PST

BTW, anyone remember MiniFigs selling micro armour? if you own or owned it how did it look and would you have a listing of what they sold? I am very courious.

oceanway14 Mar 2008 7:25 p.m. PST

Trafalgar had quite armor and
a small range of planes.Most
were one piece with piano wire
barrels.My favorites were a
P.40 Italian tank and Etendard
French fighter.Panzerwerk had
the molds that became Pewtercraft.I loved their Dutch cruisers and Italian TBs.I remember Heritage had
micro armor, but it was H/R or
Skytrex. They also had the 1/432 Airpower planes later
sold by Pewtercraft.Anyone know who has these molds now?

My recollection was that Minifigs were recasting (I assumed under licence) GHQ stuff. I think I got a whole bunch of M60A2 from them in that way.

Sgt Pinback16 Mar 2008 9:58 p.m. PST

Before being distributed briefly by USA Games under the name Pewtercraft, they were sold for a few years in Texas (Houston, and later Pasadena) as Eisenwerke.

farnox17 Mar 2008 10:27 a.m. PST

PMC Precision Metal Craft
I do recall purchasing some microarmor under this brand in the seventies. I might still have some of the containers they came in as it was a plastic snap type.

The Dozing Dragon13 Sep 2025 7:06 a.m. PST

Minifigs did a small 'Miniminifigs' 5mm range for a short time in the early 70's. Horse & Musket along with WW2.There was also smaller scale WW1 Warships.
