Does anyone know of a company that produces large ants?

Any scale really, but I was hoping to use 20mm WWII US soldiers, so preferably "Them!" proportions.

Thanks in advance. John.

I think Steve Jackson games did a giant ant set. Maybe Mega Miniatures too. & I'm pretty sure there is one other company that does them, but can't remember who.

Scale Creep will have all you need for giant ants.

A DOLLAR STORE NEAR YOU

I'll second the dollar store. If they don't have them now they soon will have.

I know which ones you mean from the dollar stores, but they are a bit too small. :(

I have some pretty big ants – they are "Them" sized for 28mm:

Can anyone tell me how big the Steve Jackson ants were/are?

bandit8616 Feb 2008 11:23 p.m. PST

They fit well with 28mm although they are not giant ants but rather really really big ants.

If you have any hobby shops near by that carry Heller model kits, try to find the 'Formica Rufa' kit. It's a plastic model of an Ant. I believ it is a 6/1 scale (6 times life size). I think it's about 4 or 5 inches long. It went out of production a couple years ago. It's kit number 79400. They had 2 or 3 other kits of over sized insects too. Fun stuff.

Thanks guys!
The most cost-effective way I think would be to use the plastic toy ants (Item #: 2125) as you suggest eagleteacher25. But as they are, they look for too cute. Will need to "evil-ise" them

I love to see a modern remake of "Them" or empire of the ants..

Not made like 8 legged freaks..!!!!
