Against my better judgment, I went and had a look at the new collectible World of Warcraft minis game, and I have to admit that their prepainted plastics are very nice looking.

The question is this: what scale are they? I have no use for anything bigger than 28mm, no matter HOW pretty they are…

Anybody got any news?

1/144th I think

These are the ones for Upper Deck I assume. I made a couple of them, they were Blood Elves, the male was about 45mm the female 38mm. At least that was the size they were sculpted.

Doctor Bedlam09 Feb 2008 3:52 p.m. PST

…that would make them about a half inch tall. There's no WAY they can get that kind of detail on figures half the size of HO scale!

Oh, okay… 45mm? Rrr. Might buy a few, but at those scales, I can't use 'em…

I'd like to play a game in which giant orcs with idiotically oversized axes tried to knock down a Sopwith Camel.

Hey, I've run sillier events.

I think the website mentioned "palm-sized" or some such.

From the website Q&A:

Q: What factions and characters will I be able to play?

A: You can build parties from the Alliance, Horde, and Monster factions. You'll have access to iconic characters such as Warchief Thrall, High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind, and Archmage Arugal, all brought to life in beautiful palm-size masterpieces.

D'oh, I assumed they would be roughly 32mm-ish, appears I was wrong. I'd want them to mix with my exisiting fantasy stuff, so that might make these guys a no go for me. My search for Warcraft style Trolls continues….
