Just saw the movie "Underworld" featuring a 21st century bloodfeud between vampires and werewolves (and stars Kate Beckinsale). Wonder whether there are any figures in 28mm scale out there that would be usable for the two sides. Recommendations would be most appreciated. TIA, Richard

Anything intended for use with White Wolf's RPG, since they were supposedly heavily involved in the film.

rmaker, who makes figures for White Wolf's RPGs anyway?

Richard, I agree, an excellent film and inspirational for skirmish gaming.

I think Ral Partha used to make the Vampire figs. You might be able to use some figs from Reaper ( jean Paul DU Champs) or some of the Vampire wars figs from Westwind/Old Glory.

White Wolf was sort of the opposite of 'involved in the film.' They sued the filmmakers.

Anyway, I can't think of anything remotely resembling the werewolves from that film. The protagonist (Selene) is quite accurately represented by a mini from GOO's superhero game cast by Reaper.

Maybe someone should start a 100 club category for Matrix/Equilibrium/Underworld type minis.

I'm considering using a mix of Westwind and Copplestone Future Wars for an Underworld style game

cheers

Thanks very much for the helpful input so far.

rmaker--I second sunjester's question: do you know of specific lines made for White Wolf?

blackscribe-excellent idea about Eureka. Would you like to ask Nic? ;-) By the way I wonder about the legal position, whether Nic can make a range of figures after a film whose characters would be trademarked (I know there are many other threads on this topic elsewhere). Still Copplestone manages to make lookalike figs. for Predator and Exterminator under different names....

Chopper-sounds like a good idea.I have to dig through my Copplestones to find suitable figures. I have seen Westwind's vampire minis in a magazine: they look very nice but have a definite Transylvanian/Victorian air to them. Okay but I also like some stylish, high-tech ones as in the film.

Best, Richard

Hi Rich

Try out this link. I think the stuff's pretty close to the film.

Ral Partha had the rights to make 3 lines of White Wolf figures: Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage. Do a search on ebay with those and Ral PArtha as keywords and you will find some for sale.I just saw some put up in the last 3-4 days.

Just checked out blackscribe's lead....

Just want to share this information--The Alice Queen of Hearts figure from the Silver Age Sentinels (Guardians of Order) range looks really good as Selene (brandishing two pistols). A headswap with a Copplestone Future Wars mini (if these are compatible in size), for instance, might yield a close-to-perfect match but she looks good even as is.

Thanks CeAcatl for the other lead! Some of the minis on the GZG website look quite serviceable though not as good in quality as Copplestone or Sarah Garrity. Need to find another site with more images to see what the rest is like....

Next thing now is to check out the Ral Partha vampires and werewolves.

you can find details of all the WW licensed ranges over on the Stuff of Legends site (www.solegends.com).
You may also find some shadowrun figures suitable (previously Ral Partha and now being re-produced by Iron Wind Metals). RAFM also made some vampires in their Fantastic Noir series. Ebay is a good place to look for all the above.
