There is a Futurama Movie in the pipeline! Why did I have to learn about this joyous event from a magazine we were printing today? How come there are not thirty threads on here raving in joy / predicting calamitous unfunniness?

I thought I could rely on youse guys to keep me up to speed on this sort of thing.

You are doing your best? Your best is an IDIOT.

Only Warlock05 Feb 2008 3:48 p.m. PST

Great canine of Palestine!

You mean Futurama: Bender's Big Score (2007) – the one I bought in NOVEMBER?

Just to get you up to speed – there are to be a total of four movies;
Futurama: Bender's Big Score (2007)
Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs (2008)
Futurama: Bender's Game (2008) (V)
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder (2009)

Now run out and buy it NOW!

Damn – it's already out? I'd not seen it in the UK – just a trailer on the Simpsons movie DVD. I'll have to go hunt for it now.

nazrat05 Feb 2008 4:06 p.m. PST

I hadn't heard a word about that myself! Thanks for leading me out of the darkness!

PaulyJ05 Feb 2008 4:12 p.m. PST

'Bite my shiny metal SLISH!!!!'

Covert Walrus05 Feb 2008 7:06 p.m. PST

Ummmm . . . Because it'll be released in Region 1 format NTSC, as opposed to any other region or PAL?

aecurtis Fezian05 Feb 2008 7:10 p.m. PST

Or could it be that Futurama just isn't funny?

Yep, that one gets my vote.

Hexxenhammer06 Feb 2008 7:42 a.m. PST

There is an entire episode of Hypnotoad as a bonus feature. It's exactly what you think it would be.

There can only be one sentence, in light of the gravity of your offence

Death by Snoo snoo!

lugal hdan06 Feb 2008 8:26 a.m. PST

"All Hail the Hypnotoad" – best line EVAR!

Well, except for "Bite my shiney metal @ss!" of course.

Death by Snoo snoo!

Woo-hoo! 8^)
Oh. 8^(
Woo-hoo! 8^)
Oh. 8^(

(And I prefer the "lick my frozen, metal ass" version from the ski resort episode.)

Mike at Work 206 Feb 2008 9:07 a.m. PST

Futurama really has "heart", just look at the episode where Fry goes to find his 7 leaf clover that his brother "stole" and it turns out his brother loved him so much he named his firstborn son Phillip J Fry, who later went on to fullfill Fry's dream of being an astronaut.

Also, the last 5 minutes of "Jurassic Bark" is the most eye tearingly sad 5 minutes of animation ever.

Alias Zero06 Feb 2008 9:07 a.m. PST

Yup. Scruffy's gonna die, the way Scruffy lived. **Flips to the next page of Zero G Jugs**

The show isn't for everyone, and I didn't really appreciate it till I bought my better half the first 4 seasons.

GoodBye06 Feb 2008 9:36 a.m. PST

Futurama-the very definition of 'hit or miss'.

jpattern206 Feb 2008 12:23 p.m. PST

Mike at Work, no kidding. Those two episodes are literal heartbreakers. Anyone who doesn't mist up at the end of "Jurassic Bark" never owned a pet.

Austin Rob06 Feb 2008 3:09 p.m. PST

I love Futurama.

Bender's Big Score? Meh. It was OK. Glad I only rented it.

Rob

Sargonarhes06 Feb 2008 3:15 p.m. PST

Because I've been looking for more info about the rumors of a Lensman movie by Universal and Ron Howard's studio being negotiated.

If you've seen the thread about it on Starship Combat News.

The Beast Rampant07 Feb 2008 1:20 p.m. PST

I also didn't feel that "Bender's Big Score" was all that hot. Intended to be (somewhat) feature length, but it just seemed too long.

iouliared07 Feb 2008 6:27 p.m. PST

"Bender's Game"- that's funny!

Thornhammer07 Feb 2008 7:07 p.m. PST

I change the channel as soon as I recognize Jurassic Bark.

I didn't like Bender's Big Score all that much either – Al Gore is good for one appearance per episode, not several. And in general it just wasn't all that good. It WAS good to see more Futurama, and I really look forward to the next movie.

If you don't like Jurassic Bark, watch Bender's Big Score. It…helps.
