Hello,

Has anyone read either of the following.:

Russia's Wars of Emergence 1460-1730
link

Warfare, State and Society on the Black Sea Steppe, 1500-1700
link

Looking for a general and gamers' perspective of the books.

Thanks,
Andrew

I have Russia's Wars of Emergence. It is more "academic" than most books that seem to interest wargamers. Have to say, though, that I have only skimmed through it.

I've read Russia's Wars of Emergence. As mentioned, very academic and focuses on economic matters and political and social structure. Not that much on military matters. Save your money.
