I don't mean the race white but the color white, it's for a pulp sci fi game but I don't like how they are looking so far. Any ideas? if it helps they are parroom martians. |

I've heard stories of people painting everything in black and white (and grey) so that it looked like a B&W movie from the old days before color movies were widespread. That would take a lot of painting skill to effect, IMHO. |

You shouldn't shoot them, Allen, just because they frighten you. A mime is a terrible thing to waste. |

Seriously, I would spray prime them white. Then, stain with Payne's Gray, then drybrush white. This will make them look like a cold white. |

I lost a friend who wandered into a mimefield, once. Terribly sad. |

If you want cold, I'd shade with light blue; like snow. If you want them to appear warmer, then shade with a superlight brown gray. What color are their lips? |

If you want cold, I'd shade with light blue; like snow. This is what I'm trying for. |

If you want the light blue effect: Prime them black. Paint them GW shadow gray highlight with a mix of shadow gray and space wolf gray highlight with space wolf gray highlight again with white. |

I don't ever like to paint white over pure grey, because it always looks like stone to me. I use a hint of green/khahi/tan for a neutral "white". |

If I was to paint a mime artist I would do two coats of emulsion with a top coat of gloss |

Just to mention that GW's Shadow Grey and Spacewolves grey are both Blueish greys and do indeed work well with white as the highest highlight as per Pictors suggestion. |
