Well, this puts a tickmark in the "reasons to never create public-input website" column. I am increasing impressed by Bill's patience in being able to deal with sich a "varied" public with such dignity and sanity. I know I couldn't. |

And TMP gets it's first internet crank, who doesn't understand copyright law! |
| victor0leto | 22 Jan 2008 8:30 a.m. PST |
I just want it made clear that I am currently working on a document that details all of the important war gaming related activities that I think occured in the 18th century, and by defoolt am claiming that the entire period from 12:01 am january 1, 1701, to 12:00 pm December 31 1799 are my legally protected IP, except the Februrary 29ths that occur within that century (for some reason those days are the IP of one Mr. G. I. Spamsome, and I understand he makes 12 cents every time one of those days is mentioned in print, lucky bastard). |
| Blackhawk1 | 22 Jan 2008 8:34 a.m. PST |
Boorish, intellectually challenged moron springs too mind. Using lots of big words and blustering like a pompous, yipping ankle biter dog just makes me *yawn*. I hope Bill leaves everything just as it is to tweak this varool in the nose. |
| Griefbringer | 22 Jan 2008 8:42 a.m. PST |
Regarding posting to a public board, I would say that the original owner still has the copyright to the piece, eg. if the piece is quoted otherwise that quotation has to fulfill the criteria for fair use. On the other hand, by posting it in public you acknowledge that it will be published in the said website, subject to the rules of the website in question. Griefbringer |
| nazrat | 22 Jan 2008 8:49 a.m. PST |
But it sounds like HE put the offending pieces here, doesn't it? Of course we (and Bill) will never know what they are because the idiot refuses to tell us! |
| Plynkes | 22 Jan 2008 8:51 a.m. PST |
Victor0leto's 18th Century is a year short. Now see if we can get this right: Is your missing year 1700 or 1800? |

The following is a formal and public notice that I require The Miniatures Page to remove material that they have taken from my without my permission and used on their web page, TMP link Some of the material taken and used without permission is copyrighted and all of it is my intellectual property. This action is certainly unethical and probably is also illegal
I onder how Bill does that. Did he drug Hwicccee and make him post here? |
| Palafox | 22 Jan 2008 9:11 a.m. PST |
Not counting pirates, there are 5 boards about 18th century gaming so maybe these are the 5 incidents he mentions. Maybe does he has the copyright of 18th Cent gaming?. The affair seems an overreaction for being DHsed. That Orbit guy or any of his "representatives" should be more clear and link to the claimed offending material posted, though I have serious doubts he'll do. |
FingerAndToeModels | 22 Jan 2008 9:12 a.m. PST |
I have copyrighted the look and feel of IP infringement. This is a formal notice that all future allegations of IP infringement must be posted in a way that does not violate my copyright--or you can license the look and feel for one Blue Chip or Green stamp or its monetary equivalent (one mil of one cent IIRC). The copyright is on file in the Patents Office of Alpha Centauri Five, next to the Vogon permits office. |

Gungnir, you'd think it was obvious, wouldn't you? But it didn't seem so to the very large number of folks who celebrated the Millenium at the wrong end of 2000. |

This is a formal notice to Polynikes, Aecurtis, and John the OFM to cease and desist from selling popcorn on these threads. Virtual Popcorn is my idea. I registered my copyright and trademark with the Nigerian Finance Minister some time ago. I came up with the idea shortly after advising Al Gore on how to invent the internet. I have sent them many messages and legal notices using the psycokinetic asynchronous connection built into my tin-foil helmet I wear to keep the CIA, Russian Mafia, and alien dustmice merchants from stealing my essence (legal procedings pending on these actions as well). They have repeatedly ignored my warnings [this section describing thier intellectual, familial, and hygenic shortcomings censored, probably by Bill who one of my personalities assures me is the second cousin of the anti-christ]. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! |

'Mr Armintrout stated that this could not be done, which I accepted. I therefore asked for him to do it. To which he replied, probably less than truthfully, that this was also not possible.' It was this bit on the other thread I liked. He accepted something couldn't be done so he then asked for it to be done? |
| Griefbringer | 22 Jan 2008 9:40 a.m. PST |
"This is a formal notice to Polynikes, Aecurtis, and John the OFM to cease and desist from selling popcorn on these threads. Virtual Popcorn is my idea. I registered my copyright and trademark with the Nigerian Finance Minister some time ago." May I remind you that Polynikes and John the OFM most likely actually ARE the Nigerian Finance Minister, so they can probably claim that they never received the applications you sent in the five messages in the bottles that you threw to the ocean "when the stars were right". Griefbringer |
DontFearDareaper | 22 Jan 2008 9:42 a.m. PST |

This is a virtual notice to dontfeardareaper that while he has maintained the rights to virtual popcorn that I now claim IP rights to all accoutraments and extras to said popcorn to include, but not limited to, virtual butter, salt and various sized containers to hold said virtual popcorn. I also IP the use of virtual concession stands for those individuals wishing virtual soda, virtual candy, and so on. Such IP claim is hereby extended back to the time of Frederick the Great on forward into perpetuity. :P |
| GarrisonMiniatures | 22 Jan 2008 9:58 a.m. PST |
Depends on how many people put on I suppose. That idea (that the number of posts on a thread is in direct proportion to the number of people posting and the number of posts those those individuals post) is, of course, totally novel and therefore my intellectual property and no-one has the right to publish it anywhere without my express permission. As I do not give my express permission to TMP it must be removed forthwith. |
DontFearDareaper | 22 Jan 2008 10:01 a.m. PST |
Blackhawk1, Bah!! Where is your undeniable evidence to this claim posted many times but strategically hidden from all known research techniques?!?? |
| Jerzei Balowski | 22 Jan 2008 10:02 a.m. PST |
Attention, please: I now possess all IP rights to the letters A, E, Z, and M. Any use of these letters without my express written permission is a very naughty thing to do. |

Yeah, I thought that post was the best. First he says that he is not going to participate in the discussion anymore, then proceeds to lay out ever major battle involved in the War being discussed and probably tops out 1000 word or more on the post that he began by saying he would no longer be participating in
Is he still trying to get access or has the Editor finally got him banned completely? In other words, has he shut up and took all his toys and went home? |
| Buff Orpington | 22 Jan 2008 10:34 a.m. PST |
This beats painting toy soldiers doesn't it? |
Editor in Chief Bill | 22 Jan 2008 10:44 a.m. PST |
Is he still trying to get access or has the Editor finally got him banned completely? He can always run to a library or something and get access, I'm afraid. I've blocked his latest ISP, as he seems to be the only one operating out of there (I don't see any other TMP'ers using that IP range). |
| Jovian1 | 22 Jan 2008 10:53 a.m. PST |
Does this individual really believe that his remarks or threats are going to change the nature of this forum?!? In light of his being banned/locked/removed from the forum it would indeed seem that all he has done here is given the rest of us someone to virtually pick on. Honestly, does anyone know if he still has a functioning brain? To run in here threatening Bill with legal action over Intellectual Property rights when it is abundantly clear he lacks any intellect is monumentally stupid. If you are going to threaten someone with legal action – you had better know what you are doing first and foremost and then you had better be prepared to back up that threat with actions, not more threats. As for intellectual property rights – I now claim IP rights to virtual salad bars, the Lounge, the Parlor, the Attic, and the thing in the basement of the Lounge. For those of you who do not know what these things are – become a supporting member and find out. Then you can share some virtual popcorn in a virtual container at the virtual bar and enjoy a virtual drink with the rest of us! |
DontFearDareaper | 22 Jan 2008 10:58 a.m. PST |
One would think he would get a clue after reading these threads
Some puppies enjoy getting kicked I suppose. Or, more likely, Bill has stolen his protective tin-foil helmet and he is now at the mercy of the alien dustmice merchants and must do their nefarious bidding while they watch safely from the confines of their RebelMinis Rocketship (TM). Oh and the final number of posts will be 128. Anyone who makes a post beyond that number is obvously a lawbreaker and violater of many copyrights and trademarks and shall be sued by our team of crack law experts who haven't actually gone to law school but they did stay at a Holday Inn last month. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! |

TMP really needs the equivalent of a Speaker's Corner to servs as a safety valve for some folks. You would think the Ranting board would, but it's really not getting the job done. By the way, tinfoil hats are underrated. Everyone should have one. Bloop. Allen |
mmitchell | 22 Jan 2008 11:05 a.m. PST |
I am trademarking the Nigerian Oil Minister AND the Nigerian Finance Minister, so you guys will all be violating my IP every time you open a spam e-mail from him. Fortunately, I'm not stupid enough to sue you guys over it, so I'll just let you payme a small licensing fee based on how many times you've received (and probably will continue to receive) e-mails from him. By my calculations, you each owe me $1,2043.17. You can send it to me via PayPal at my Website. ----------------- This was, by the way, one of the silliest threads ever! What moron would think that blustering in here and making pointless demands to have things removed would work, without even mentioning the specific things that need to be removed! Yeesh. People like him drag down the collective IQ of the Internet (and believe me, that's hard to do!). |

I remember Hwiccee being on TMP from way back, and he always seemed like a nice enough sort. Then I lost track of him for years (interested in different stuff no doubt, I ain't exactly an 18th Century type of chap). Then suddenly he's back and grabbing all the headlines with a serious case of rampant nut-jobism. It's baffling as to why he's suddenly gone absolutely barmy in this way. Well it was baffling me, and then I remembered he's from Worcestershire, and suddenly all is clear. (Ha! Ha! Ha! Had to get that one in. on the Harriers! on the Harriers tonight!)
