I have accused Peter Frost of "The late queen" of using carved down P Pig figures as the basis of his own figures. I have not been able to prove my allegations and must therefore withdraw them. I hope this has not caused too much trouble to Peter. I wish him success. I will leave TMP so that the matter does not rise again. I will drop in at some future point and wish you good luck until then. Martin at Peter Pig |

Martin, they did look similar, especially in points that are generally quite distinctive to PP figures, sufficiently so to raise the question. Possibly could have been better handled, but Peter has demonstrated the original base to a degree that shows he has produced the originals from scratch. You were wrong, that's all. And it's probably provided Peter with a massive degree of publicity that they may not otherwise have had. Well done for the apology. I wouldn't leave. |

Why the extremism? No reason to leave. I didn't even know of this hoo-ha until now. Love my PP figs! |

C'mon Martin
just forget it. Don't do anythimg rash and continue contributing. Your opinions are always worthwhile. |

Martin, I too had not heard anything about it until this thread. You were big enough to give a public apology, no need to leave TMP. |
Wyatt the Odd | 19 Jan 2008 12:52 p.m. PST |
I also completely missed any allegations. You have my utmost respect for making the public apology. Tangentally, I would like to thank Martin for creating some very useful figures that are now populating some of my vehicles. I wasn't sure anyone from PP was on TMP (how about that, you were a faceless corporation until just now). Of course, that means you can't exile yourself now – I have questions. Wyatt |

Yeah, stick around Martin! It's always good to hear what you're up to. I think that Peter's figures are a tribute to your skills as a sculptor, and I'm sure he'd agree. Well done on being big enough to make the apology. Actually the whole affair has put both you and Peter up in my estimations, I'm sure you're both big enough to put all this behind you. Cheers Rich P.S. Bloomin' nice Samurai mate! |

Tmp should not be losing any individual who knows how to apolgize. Please stay Martin. |

Hey,not that many men know when they are wrong and they are even ready to admit it.We need you at the TMP. |
| Napoleon III | 19 Jan 2008 1:43 p.m. PST |
I also missed the allegations. But even if I had seen them, you have made your apologies now. Good for you! Don't go, for goodness' sake, Martin! That would be too extreme a reaction, and a loss to the TMP community at large. Here's hoping you reconsider!? |

I am sorry for this Martin, but that isn't really an apology. (Please see my response on the thread on the announcement as well). "I have not been able to prove my allegations and must therefore withdraw them" This just implies that you can't prove your allegations, so won't say them any further, which is not the same thing as an apology. All you've "apologized" for is causing some trouble for Peter, you have not stated that your allegations were incorrect. So, as I said on the other thread, you REALLY need to hammer this out with Peter to yours (and his) satisfaction, and then return with a true apology for the accusations. Sorry to disagree with all of you lads. I have the highest regard for you Martin, meeting you at various shows over the years in the UK and hearing others speak about you, and you are better than this. |

In addition, I think Peter deserves better than this as well. |

Martin, please see my post on the News thread. For heaven's sake, don't be an arseclown and act like ME!!! Stay here with the rest of the crew. Sort the details so that you can honestly say your convinced, and give Peter a proper apology. I don't know too many people that I think would have either the cojones or the grace to do it properly. I believe pretty strongly that you have both--so get on with it! Allen |

Allen's opinion seems sensible, very sensible. |

Agree with the above. Also, your input as a manufacturer – both in comments you can make on threads and in taking on board what people say generally – can only be good for the hobby. I use these boards shamelessly to determine what I'm going to bring out. I benefit, TMPers benefit – don't throw away a good forum over an honest – and presumably understandable – mistake. |

I value your contributions and wish you would stay. In addition, I think it would be a good thing to see every issue between the two firms sorted out publicly for the benefit of both parties. |

Martin, you have to come back. Seriously, if you don't we will only grow to resent and hate Peter Frost (whoever he is), whether he's guilty or not. |
| mandt2 | 20 Jan 2008 6:46 a.m. PST |
Okay. I looked at Peter's minis. There is a similarity of styles. Two in particular look rather "Peter-Piggish" to me. The mini in the lower left corner has a very PP-like face, and the officer with his hands on his hips looks like it could also be a PP mini. So I can see why Martin might have been suspicious. He has to be, to protect his product and marketplace identity. On the otherhand, I can't see anything in Peter's line that I could say is pirated, or knocked off. Some characteristics of some of his minis are just very similar to Martin's. I think it was an honest and understandable mistake, that seems to have been resolved, and both of you guys have shown a lot of class in your reconciliation posts here. |
