I have the first one by John Lynn. It's not a large book, but is excellent and I'd recommend it. I don't have the second one, but am planning on getting it as I'm a Charles XII fan.

You might also want to take a look at another Lynn book, Army of the Grand Siecle about Louis XIV's army. It's excellent quite large, and well worth it.
