Just picked up a 7-figure set of these minis today (did quite well – Dalek Sec, an Assault Dalek, a regular Dalek, the Doctor, an Auton and a clockwork robot), and here's a size comparison shot. From left to right: a DWMU Dalek, a Black Tree Design Dalek, a DWMU Cyberman and a Copplestone Castings Man In Black. Behind the MIB is a scale marked in 1/16". the bases are 3/16" thick*, and the top of his head is at 1 9/16".

* The BTD Dalek and CC MIB are on a combination of a UK 2p coin and a GW slottabase, to make their bases the same thickness as the DWMU minis.

thanks for that Andrew, gonna have to get some now!

Don't bother actually playing the game; it's top trumps with a die roll. The minis come in 3-packs (with one visible) or 7-packs (with 3 visible). There's also the ships set (6 of them; Slitheen, Judoon, TARDIS, S.S. Madame de Pompadour, Cpt. Jack's ship and the end ot time sanctuary ship), which also come with a mini (although, apparently not a special miniature; it looks like you just get one from the regular set). Sadly, the TARDIS is way out of scale with the figures :(

Are the figures easily removable from the bases?

AndrewGPaul27 Dec 2007 11:38 a.m. PST

They appear to be cast in one piece, like D&D minis and Star Wars minis, so no. The guys on foot could be cut off if you're careful, but things like Daleks and K-9 would be tricky. a cutting wheel on a dremel or similar would do it, I think. Or you could just cut down the base to a sliver, and not bother removing it completely.

the bases are decagons, 30mm across the flats, by the way.

Hm. Wonder what the market will be like for singles in the US?

Hundvig Fezian27 Dec 2007 1:24 p.m. PST

Those look pretty viable, size-wise.

Sadly, the TARDIS is way out of scale with the figures

I prefer to think of it as the dimensional stabilizer being on the fritz. Surely the chameleon circuit isn't the only thing that ever breaks down on the poor old thing.

I have visions of the Doctor and company inside, frantically trying to find a ladder to reach the controls of a suddenly-supersized control column…

cloudcaptain27 Dec 2007 1:35 p.m. PST

I hope the singles come out soon. I need me some villains I tells ya!

cloudcaptain27 Dec 2007 1:40 p.m. PST

Didn't even see the main packs on the standard US CMG sites :(

Thieses27 Dec 2007 3:56 p.m. PST

I like the scale of the Cyberman. These will be nicer than I had thought originally. The only problem is finding them in the U.S. without paying a million $$$ for them.

I just 'pre-ordered' two of the 'Sanctuary ships' (SS Peladon?) from FORBIDDEN PLANET INTERNATIONAL at:

I also ordered a 'Tardis' and here's a link to the page with the spaceship/fig sets:

Yes, I agree with the opinions here. They do look like they will fit in better that I thought. Thanks!

Mirosav28 Dec 2007 8:02 a.m. PST

What stores are carrying these in the US?

Norrins29 Dec 2007 7:19 a.m. PST

I got two packs last night. Once the figures have been cut off their base and stuck onto a GW base, then they fit in quite nicely with 28mm figures. I got Martha and Micky and they seem a little bit on the slender side compared to a metal figure.

Still got to work how to get the Daleks off their base.

anevilgiraffe30 Dec 2007 5:05 a.m. PST

anyone know whats rare, common etc in these…?

Norrins31 Dec 2007 7:09 a.m. PST

Here you go.

Rare figures are 10th Doc in coat, Martha Jones, Sarah Jane Smith, Prof Yana, Dalek Sec Hybrid and Dalek Sec.

Uncommon figures are Hoix, Mr Saxon, Werewolf, K9, Mickey, Clockwork Man 2, Assault Dalek and Cyber controller.

Common figures are Cyberman, Slitheen, Ood, Empty Child, Pig Slave, Moxx of Balhoon, Krillitane, Dalek, Clockwork Man 1, Judoon Trooper, Auton and Sycorax Leader.

Exclusive figures (from ship sets) are Madame de Pompadour, Doc in Space Suit, Captain Jack, The Doctor, Space Pig and Judoon Captain.

Out of two packs I have got more rare figures than common figures!!!

Jayster02 Jan 2008 6:58 a.m. PST

Glad to see the Krillitane is a common figure. I plan on using those as Gargoyles for 1/72 / 20mm.

I bought the 7 figure pack and got Sarah Jane, Mickey, K9, Werewolf – (Which will also become part of a 1/72 game.)an Auton and a Slytheen – (Not sure if the Slytheen will be suitable as a troll or not.)

I also got the Tardis with Doctor, which will be for my eldest son, along with the figures I won't be cutting up.

I guess my next task will be to devise a suitable Dr Who game for him.

Tanuki03 Jan 2008 7:10 a.m. PST

*sigh* I knew I couldn't resist, so I picked up a couple of packs in ToysRUs.

Not bad, not bad at all. Quality is reasonable, most of the plastic is moderately hard, and the thin bendy bits like Dalek arms come in plastic sheaths to protect them. A couple of the minis were very bendy though (including the base) – manufacturing problem? And the Daleks are very, very nice. I got:

Rares: Martha, Dalek Sec, Dalek Sec Hybrid;
Uncommons: 2x assault Dalek, 2x clockwork android, Mickey, werewolf;
Commons: Cyberman, Dalek, Slytheen, Krillitane, Judoon.

So the mix of rares, uncommons and commons is almost equal, and I'm not even too fussed about the duplicates – got a nice little Dalek force there. 12/28 (40% of the entire set) in two packs is OK as far as collectible goes.

*Double sigh*… and I got a 25% off voucher from Character Options when I returned all my daughter's Bindeez in the recall in November… :)

Did your daughter get a it of a short measure there then? – Her toys go back. YOU get new ones for yourself.

Tanuki03 Jan 2008 8:50 a.m. PST

No, even I'm not that mean – they're sending back DOUBLE the number of Bindeez, WITHOUT the added date-rape drug as a "bonus" :)
