I finally took the plunge and picked up some pig iron productions heads for my Cadians. I got one pack of Kolony Rebel Heads, and two Packs of Kolony Militia heads.
Here are the pics of the heads on GW bodies, The four figures are:
-Firing Cadian with standared barehead mask head. (10 or 12 per Rebel pack)
-Lieutenant (modified from Lt. Varas)with one of the non-standard bareheaded heads (2 each of 4 of the non-standard designs per rebel pack)
-Advancing Cadian with Standard Helmeted gasmask head (Kolony militia heads pack is made up of 20 of these)
-Guardsman with shaved down standard helmetless head and hollowed out standard cadian helmet. Just to see how it would look.

Overall, I am very happy with them. I have only painted about one platoon of my guardsmen and they are standard GW cadian heads. After these tests, my second platoon will definatley be all gas masked and depending on how they turn out, I may decide to put gas masks on every figure in the army.
Oh yeah, the price and speedy delivery from Rattlehead was the icing on the cake.

I can also support Pig Iron's UK service. 53 minutes to respond to an email enquiry and then a day to get the parts to me after the order was paid for.

Thank you for posting these. I have been waffling for a good while about picking some up from Brandon and this is just the thing to get me motivated.

No problem, I'm glad it was of help.

I think that the pig iron figs and vehicles are nice, but the heads sets are one of the neatest products to come out for 28mm scifi gaming in a while. I like making my miniature armies just a bit different than everyone elses, and this is the kind of thing that makes it easy…and the fact that they are dirt cheap doesn't hurt either.

Very good photos!

I did similar, with the Kolony heads as well as the heavy armor heads. I have some of the helmetless gasmask heads, and I am tempted to use them for either Conscripts (put them on Catachans maybe?) or Sr Officers, to make them stand out.

Please note, my paint jobs are not meant to be seen that close :-P

Yes – thanks a lot for those pictures. I have been tempted, but hesitated because I did not know how well they would work out.

I've ordered some PI head sprues to try the same on other figures:
