I've been working on a sci-fi bunker complex for the last few days and posted a "construction diary" page with some in-progress pics. Doesn't look like much yet, but I'm all cranked up over it, so thought I'd post something on it. My hope is to complete it over the holiday week (US Thanksgiving holiday). I'm already about two days behind where I expected to be, so we'll see if I can pull it off. link |

That is one sweet bunker complex coming together. "Doesn't look like much". What an understatement. It's bloody fantastic. I admire your skill and dedication. I was surprised at the level of detail on the interior, given that this was ostensibly for 40K. I was half-expecting just open spaces, perhaps one or two room dividers. You have detailed corridors and separate rooms, the works! Which makes this a killer terrain centerpiece for any number of sci-fi skirmish games as well. Very cool. Steve |

That's a very nice bunker, and I enjoyed the other pages too. I think you should give the site a snappier name though, so that I recognise it when you next post an update. Don't sell yourself short on what you have. |

Blue foam for making bunkers – what a clever idea! Wish I'd have thought of that! It looks damn good to me! |
WarWizard | 21 Nov 2007 6:14 a.m. PST |
Excellent. Where do you get the blue foam at and what do you cut it with? |

No fair, irishserb. You didn't tell 'em that you're a professional model maker. ;] Oh, and as usual, stellar work! |

Well done! I took a look at your other projects. It looks like you have a history of making professional looking scenery and vehicles. |

Really nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. I wish I could find the space/time to undertake some of my many planned large terrain projects. Ed G. |

Wow, Awesome work! I've bookmarked it |

Thanks for the kind words guys. WarWizard, the foam is just standard 1" blue Dow insulation foam from the DIY store. I cut it into "slabs" about 6" wide, then split the slabs into thinner pieces, ranging from 3/4 inch to about 3/32 thick to build walls and steps of relief detail and whatnot. I do most of the cutting on a small band saw and thinner stock is cut to shape with a sharp hobby knife. 2bit elroy, As long as I keep getting paid to be a hobbyist, they can call me whatever they want. Well, time to put a lid on the bunker. I'll post another pic or two tonight. Thanks again all. |

For those interested, I uploaded photos of the last couple of days progress this morning, and of today's work a little while ago. Today's photos show the collective progress of the last few days pretty well. Still a little detailing to do, but the outpost is just about done, and you can get a pretty good idea of the overall picture now. link There are lots of photos, so may be slow for those on dial up. Sorry about that, I'll clean up the page a bit next week. |

Irishserb – I've just come late to this party, but this is fantastic, as is your whole site. I love the sci-fi hover bus and police grav car. These would be great for an upcoming sci-fi game I'm running. You mentioned you may be making moulds of these? Would you be willing to sell any? I'd be very interested. |

Thanks for the updated pics. It looks great! |
Dragon Gunner | 11 Dec 2007 5:25 p.m. PST |
Looks Great. Does it take up the entire game table? |
Cosmic Reset | 14 Dec 2007 10:08 p.m. PST |
uti long smile, Probably sometime in March, I will go on a casting binge and make some police cars and hover buses available. The over all size is almost 5' by 4' so it takes up a good chunk of my 6'x9' table. Usually, it will probably be set up along a table edge with one of the heavy bunkers not in use, so that will give between 3.5 and 6.5 feet of target practice on the filthy orks. Sorry I haven't gotten the page cleaned up yet. I haven't had a chance to set the thing up proper and take pics yet. Darn holiday gettin in the way. And again, thanks again for the kind words. |

Irishserb – Great news! Will they be available for sale direct from you to through another site? Keep up the good work, I'll be checking in on website regularly as it's a great inspiration. |

Man, this is very nice. I didn't think that styrene was that good a material to work with. Way to go. |

I don't think there are words for what my eyes have seen. What size of a force would be needed to take such an objective? |
