I purchased a Cricut Machine for my daughter for her birthday. I have not used one, nor even seen it in action, but it intrigues me. Basically it is programmable die cutting machine that handles paper and light card. It is sold primarily to scrapbookers and people who make their own custom greeting cards, but I think there might be hobby applications. For example, cutting out paper models or making spray paint masks. I asked the question on the Cricuit board that I'm sure gets asked frequently: Is there now, or are there plans for, a capability to design my own cuts on a PC and then download it to the Cricut for cutting? For example, if I had simple line art, or vector art from CorelDraw or similar, I'd like to be able to convert it to a file that could be transfered to the Cricut via USB and then cut out. When and if that happens, it might be an nearly indispensible machine to own. Not terribly cheap

A response to my query on the Cricut board informs me that the product I am describing is a Wishblade. I am a little unclear as to exactly what Wishblade model is the entry-level machine, but it appears to be in the $450 USD to 600 range. |

Been wondering the same thing since I first saw the Cricut printer. It has potential for loads of card stock buildings to be made
Keep us informed on what you find! Cheers! |

Took a quick look at that last time I saw it. Sure seems to me that if they could make it user-programmable, sales would go up exponentially. |
