I have finally decided that I wan't to redo my skirmish board, to paint it in a "Mars Red" color. I am going to be using wood chips to make my rock piles and of course the buildings will be the ones I have shown before. picture Now my question is what kind of plant life should I include? Inspired by this post;http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=125348
I am thinking of getting the moss mats and cutting them into smaller pieces as scrub growth but beyond that I am at a loss. For gaming purposes I want to use it for; urban, rural, and barren. |

I would say – small areas of green shrub. Try this for inspiration. link Tony |

You can pick exotic colors for dried floral examples from your local craft store, or you can try making some of these: picture picture link link link Hope this helps. CC |

This should look nice on a Martian red landscape: link For alien "trees", just add a stem to these plastic jellyfish: link link link CC |

And there was a terrain article in one of the Warzone Chronicles magazines (a Mars issue) some time ago – they used dried orange peal cut in to slivers to reproduce cactus leaves. What ever you decide, good luck. Tony |

When I was on Mars, there was very little plant life, and what plant life there was had a sickly chartreuse character to it. |

Have a look in the bargain bins at larger pet & aquarium shops – I have seem translucent orange, translucent blue, white etc plastic 'seaweed' trees in the 4" range – I think intended for the live spider/scorpion crowd. |

Those jellyfish reminded me that I am immmune to jellyfish stings. Really. I pick up Man'O Wars all the time, drape the tentacles around my arm, nothing happens (sometimes a slight red line, but nothing really. When I was about ten years old, diving in the Bahamas, I jumped into the water, landing on a HUGE jellyfish (maybe three foot across). It stung the hell out of me, and ever since, I have developed a super immunity. I'm like Peter Parker, The Amazing Jellyfish Man! My only "superpower" is tricking people into picking up Man 'o Wars, saying "They don't sting when they are dead" (they do!), and "showing" them by doing it first. So, I've got THAT going for me. (which is nice) ;)

Dampfpanzerwagon: "Those jelly fish look fantastic." It was a long time ago, but I think I saw one or two types of them at Michaels' (craft store). CC |
