Anybody know where to find rednecks or hillbilly figures in 25mm/28mm – plus I need mass chicken figures, yes, chickens – planning on a zombie/hillbilly/chicken game in the future

Pictors Studio07 Nov 2007 2:52 p.m. PST

Blue moon has some.

There are some under the Westwind/OG Road Kill line:

as well as some from Demonblade. Check:

For chickens, Pegasus makes a set of plastic farm animals that will work great. You can get them from Conquest Miniatures (and other places too). Here's the link to Conquest Miniatures:

That will give you many extra farm animals though (and only 6 chickens). If you just want chickens, MegaMinis has a pack of 16 chickens. You can get the MegaMinis chickens from several places. Here's a direct link to them at Rattlehead Games:

Good luck--sounds like a fun project.

Here's an even better deal: 12 O scale chickens for $4 USD (plus shipping):

Of course, it occurs to me now that you'll probably do just as well (or better) looking at dollar stores for plastic chickens or farm animal sets (then you won't have to pay shipping).

Uh.. do we realllly wanna know how you plan
to use the..uh.. chickens..?

Randall07 Nov 2007 3:34 p.m. PST

terrain sherlock, I choose to believe that they will be zombie chickens.

Reminds me of the joke about the farmer who raised 6 legged chickens because his family all liked drumsticks.

When asked by a local how they tasted, his reply was "Dunno, haven't caught one yet."

Here's the Blue Moon link:

If you search for them on your own, they're a little difficult to find on Blue Moon's website. Click "Slice of Americana" and then click "Gangland". That'll get you there.

Blue Moon even sells that hillbilly truck with Granny's chair in the bed.

Copplestone's "Urban Cowgirls" will work for modern rednecks.

Certain wild West or Alamo type figures could be snuck into the mix too.

GZG has some rednecks

I was reading on the free wargame rules page about this:
A chicken processing plant that is turning locals into Zombies!!! So yes, Zombies is correct!!! If you saw my other post on Mummies w/Teddy Roosevelt – I run a game every few months with my group called "the continuing adventures of Teddy Roosevelt" – this month is TR and the curse of the Mummy – in a few months – I will have Teddy investigating strange going on's in FredNeck, MD – where people (i.e, Rednecks) are turning into Zombies because the chicken processing plant is built over a Mummies tomb – okay – so – I'm stealing it from the free wargames page – but it is too funny for me to pass up -

Zombiesmith link: link

…have a Hick/Zombie Hick, Homemaker/Zombie Homemaker, Preacher/Zombie Preacher, and two Zombie Kids

(I was just looking at their site thanks to a TMP banner! :)

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to get those Zombiesmith figs with the next round of Quar.

Also from Copplestone, "Sharpshootin' Hillbillies" in the Gangland Justice group.

Doctor Bedlam07 Nov 2007 8:01 p.m. PST

I am WANTING those Blue Moon figures.

Rogzombie Fezian07 Nov 2007 8:37 p.m. PST

Check out Mega minis for some white trash figs.

Another scenario:

The local chicken plant discovers it's far more economical to employ zombies than to use locals or immigrants.

No time off,no health plan,no union,no daycare and no $11.25 USD an hour for 'live hang'.

The laid-off mortals seek to get rid of the undead scabs before the zombies take their jobs at Sprawl-Mart,Booger Baron,No-Tell 666 and Bubba's By-Mor Bait Boutique.

Toss in a few Feds,Gangsters,Preachers,Magic-Users ,a "hired gun" (a la Ash or the Magnificent Seven ) and some blue state workers'advocates and you could have the rowdiest battle since Dagon ran afoul of the local frog-giggers.

(Think "The Hills Have Eyes meet Deliverance in Maggody" with Sheriff Arrowood,Sookie Stackhouse and John the Balladeer as the token sane people.)

RomanRep08 Nov 2007 4:28 p.m. PST

Of course, I'm doing all of it for my "continuing adventures of Teddy Roosevelt" – so I don't know where he fits in with all of that?? but thanks!
