Does anyone know if Jeff and Ben at Fortress Figures still have plans to re-release the Back Biters and Brain Worms?

Coolness…I hope so…

Doctor Bedlam18 Oct 2007 7:48 a.m. PST

I didn't have a chance to buy those last time. I hope to see them again.

I've emailed Fortress to ask, and get a price if they are available. Past discussions on this subject suggest that they'll run a batch if you ask nicely, but I haven't done so until now.

Will let you all know what their response is…if they don't just post here themselves. :)

I asked awhile back about some of thier window inserts they used to make. They responded saying that they would make them and asked how many. There were two sizes I wanted at least 10 of each size, they never returned an email after.

I got your e-mail Hundvig but I'll just post here.

These figures are over a decade old. I had thought they had run their course but there does seem to be continued interest in them.

The molds are still in my possession of course. These are cast resin miniatures not metal. I'll run them for anyone that asks at $1.00 USD each plus shipping ($7.00 US or $10.00 USD elsewhere). I do ask patience though. I don't keep inventory so you are placed in queue when I get an order. I'm running about 4-5 weeks on filling orders right now. If I get several orders for the same thing I may run them all at once and you get it sooner.

I have some new pieces for this line and intend to bring them back with some additions as time permits.

Actually, I was thinking of using the backbiters as the basis for a conversion to face huggers. I think they look great, you should bring them back into your catalog.

I have been a fan of Fortress for a long time. I use the Brain Worms for B-movies aliens. I would like them brought back. along with the "Bog Creatures" Are these still available?

Hundvig Fezian18 Oct 2007 3:25 p.m. PST

Duly noted, thanks. Those Brain Worms are one of my favorite minis in the "Truly Strange Idea" category.

Wow I forgot all about the bog creatures. Those are some nice figures done by Keven Contos back in the day. Yeah I do have the mold and could run some for you. I believe it was a set of 4 for $10.00.

Most of this stuff was dropped when I was selling through distribution and didn't have an on-line store. Now I'm wondering about an archive or legacy section in the on-line store that I could put up some of the old pieces that don't really fit with our current plans.

I almost never throw away a mold so any of the old product I should be able to make for you given time to locate the molds. The only things I can't really do is the old license products like the D&D, Battletech, or Wermacht stuff. Somebody might get upset if I started casting those again.

oooohhh….backbiters, brain worms, bog creatures and wasn't there some 'not-aliens' EGG-pods things with 'something' inside them???

Hey CC, if you're ordering a 'set' of everything, can I 'piggyback' on your order???

*slish…slish*

oooh, the JG 'hamster' with bottlecap 'shield' and 'nail sword'…I GOT one of those! looks too cool painted up…but never got the backbiters, darnit…

Hey yeah, didn't you have clear resin eggs at some time?

Thieses19 Oct 2007 2:15 p.m. PST

The Bog creatures can be seen here. link

Thieses19 Oct 2007 2:17 p.m. PST

Oh sorry, look at the Gallery section under "Lynn Roth" for the Bog creature pics. (This is an archived page.)

Thieses221 Oct 2007 6:21 a.m. PST

The brain worms can also be found in the gallery sevtion under "Chris Smith" This archived page shows lots of unavailalbe minis. I am a huge fan of the Massive earth Elemental. This figure massive is over six inched tall, and I would love another one.

Love the boggies… Maybe just a unit of twenty or so…
