If you want to find out more about Italian Colonial battles in Abyssinia during the 19thC, suitable wargames figures etc then look no further.

DAF- you're absolutely right- it had a profound effect. Although there was no love lost between the Abyssinians and Sudanese Mahdists, concern over a chain reaction is a frequently overlooked factor in the British government's decision to eliminate the Mahdists in 1898. Avenging Gordon was the popular reason, but he didn't just rise to the top of the "heroes to avenge (pending)" tray in the War Office that year.
It wasn't all plain sailing for us either of course.
