TERMINATOR | 24 Sep 2007 7:27 a.m. PST |
I already have two of the old Legends in 3D HK Tanks. But these appear to be just about as good. And quite a bit less $$$$$$. I may just have to pick one up anyway. link |

Just curious . . . How will a 7-inch model fit with 28mm? How big were those things supposed to be in the film. CC |
Black Cat Bases | 24 Sep 2007 7:48 a.m. PST |
In the film they are huge, first image is that of the tank treads crushing a skull. i have to say i think i may pick a couple of these up for terminator games. |
alien BLOODY HELL surfer | 24 Sep 2007 8:11 a.m. PST |
hmm, I may get some too – no more than 6 I think. If anyone gets one sometime soon, can they post a pic next to a 28mm figure? Thanks Scott |
RubberRonnie | 24 Sep 2007 9:12 a.m. PST |
IIRC the top of the tracks are about twice the height of a man, in the films? |
Javier Barriopedro aka DokZ | 24 Sep 2007 9:24 a.m. PST |
At 20 bucks is sure beat anything GW (and almost everybody else) has put out in a long time. As for the size worries: you guys really crack me up. =D If you remember correctly, the true scale is pretty hard to ascertain in the movies, but they ceratinly look as big as a 3-floor house, and I remember reading somewhere that they were 10-12 meters high. I'm getting 5 for sure this weekend. I love cashing my checks a bit earlier than expected. I may go loco and buy more, but I need to wait for the gf to go on her business trip, so she doesn't see the boxes coming in. =D |
elijahdprophet | 24 Sep 2007 9:42 a.m. PST |
When someone gets theirs (they dont ship until October) please post some comparison shots. At that price if they aren't insanely huge I might need a couple. |
nvdoyle | 24 Sep 2007 9:44 a.m. PST |
$20 USD for the tank, $400 USD for the flyer? Yikes! I think I'll pick up one or two of those tanks, though – my Machine Army is going to need (want, really) more support

From this site: link "The M250D stands 15 meters tall, stretches 25 meters in length, and has a width of 10 meters." However, in the drawings on that page, the H-K Tank is definitely wider than it is tall, even if you just measure across the tracks. Instead, I'd go with rough dimensions of 15m tall, 25m long, and 17m wide at the tracks. In 1/50, close to 28mm, that would put the H-K Tank at roughly 11.8" tall, 19.7" long, and 13.4" wide. In 1/43, the vehicle scale that many gamers use with 28mm, it comes out even larger: 13.7" tall, 22.9" long, and 15.6" wide. WAY too small to look good with 28mm minis, IMHO. If 7" is the length of the HCG model (the ad doesn't say if it's 7" long or tall), that scales out to roughly 1/140 – or more likely 1/144, which makes sense if it's a scale model. |
jpattern2 | 24 Sep 2007 10:37 a.m. PST |
Clarifying one point: Based on those 1/50 and 1/43 calculations, *the HCG model* is way too small to look good with 28mms. |
TERMINATOR | 24 Sep 2007 11:26 a.m. PST |
For scaling, I went by the drawing that James Cameron did for the model makers. The Legends in 3d is perfect for true 25mm. I think this is slightly smaller. The link shows a picture that originally came from the front of the box for the 1/35 model. It is right per Cameron's drawing. link But for the cost these as great. |
Gunbird | 24 Sep 2007 12:36 p.m. PST |
Hmm, it's great for my 20mm stuff. At the current Dollar value, even more so. Excellent. Johan |
Javier Barriopedro aka DokZ | 24 Sep 2007 12:39 p.m. PST |
Nah, unofficial site with some serious issues about just "how big things are". Don't like it a bit, don't believe it for a second. Might as well ask wikipedia for it's the same: speculation by fans. I say 10 meters is just about right. Again, watch the movies and see the 6'5" endo-skeletons parading next to it. |
StarfuryXL5 | 24 Sep 2007 1:48 p.m. PST |
WAY too small to look good with 28mm minis, IMHO. If by "look good" you mean "look like the movie," then yes, it won't look good. But if you can accept a smaller version unit trundling around, it works just fine. And if you're using it for something other than Terminator games, it's perfectly acceptable. |
jpattern | 24 Sep 2007 2:22 p.m. PST |
Shoot, yeah, I plan to get a couple to use as scout H-Ks. |
Broadsword | 24 Sep 2007 2:34 p.m. PST |
Now I don't have to kit-bash these suckers! I'll be picking up a few, even if they're "too small" for 28mm. Al | rivetsandsteam.com |
cloudcaptain | 24 Sep 2007 4:09 p.m. PST |
preordered 3! Thanks for the heads up. |
cloudcaptain | 24 Sep 2007 4:10 p.m. PST |
I just noticed that its configuration is very similar to an Imperial Land Raider. I think a machine army proxy for Space Marines would be cool. |
Oddball | 24 Sep 2007 9:30 p.m. PST |
Couldn't care less if the size isn't perfect. At that price, pre-painted and looking close in size, I had to get one. No, wait, I got two. You can always say that it is just a smaller version an HK in the Skynet arsenal. Don't forget the "fiction" part of science fiction. |

They look quite interesting. THanks for posting that link, Terminator. |

How durable is this 'polystone'? |
Andy Skinner | 28 Sep 2007 11:08 a.m. PST |
I'm curious about durability, too. Is it meant to sit on a shelf, rather than be moved around on a table? andy |
Blackhawk1 | 28 Sep 2007 9:06 p.m. PST |
Polystone is a fancy name for resin- which means the main body should be like a rock. I'm sure if you dropped this on the ground you would get chipping and maybe the more delicate portions would snap off. However, they should be fine for being moved on a table. I now have a reason to break out my Copplestone terminators, cast up another 2 or 3 7" flying H-K's, and blow the sudt of my Stargrun rules. I already have the scenario in mind for next years con schedule! |

Wow I had no idea about these products. Thanks for the links. |

The model does look very cool. |
Andy Skinner | 26 Oct 2007 12:07 p.m. PST |
Last week I emailed and asked when these would be out. They said that they were on a boat from China, and hoped they'd be ready to mail in 3 or 4 weeks. So I guess that's around 2 or 3 weeks by now. andy |
Der Krieg Geist | 27 Oct 2007 9:18 a.m. PST |
Yayeh
I just ordered three. Always wanted models of that tank! |
Der Krieg Geist | 27 Oct 2007 9:22 a.m. PST |
Oh and a 7 inch model at a nominal scale/ratio of 2yrds to an inch would make this tank 42 feet long. Can you say HUGE. Should work great for 28mm miniatures. |
Der Krieg Geist | 09 Nov 2007 6:51 p.m. PST |
Has anyone received theirs yet? |
Der Krieg Geist | 11 Nov 2007 7:45 p.m. PST |
Or a conformation of when they will ship? |

Andy Skinner | 19 Nov 2007 9:37 a.m. PST |
Send them an email. I found a contact on the webpage you get to when you go to pre-order. The time period they told me is just a bit over now. If by early next week I haven't heard anything, I may send them a note. But if you do before then, post what you find out. andy |

Haven't heard anything yet either. I have three coming. |
Andy Skinner | 26 Nov 2007 12:49 p.m. PST |
Got this today, after sending this morning: ====================== There was a delay at customs when the shipment entered the country, it has now been released and should be in our warehouse later this week. As soon as it arrives we will dispatch your order ====================== I assume it'll be next week. andy |
Blackhawk1 | 27 Nov 2007 9:48 a.m. PST |
That is entirely believeable if these were made in China. A lot of Chinese products are being heavily scrutinized- especially any that could be considered "toys" from what I have been reading. |
Blackhawk1 | 07 Dec 2007 7:04 p.m. PST |
I just received in my e-mail the confirmation from Hollywood Collectibles grouo that my 4 Hunter Killer tanks were shipped this evening. I'm assuming they will arrive early next week. |
