Does anyone know what happened with the Foundry Aztec's range, because they have only 3 sets for sale and the rest are in their gallery of painted figures yet (very nice indeed). Regards

Still not officially released. I'm surprised they saw the light of day being as I heard Ansell insulted Ochman by telling him they weren't up to Foundry standards. |

No thanks, Brigade. I personally thought that the Aztec sculpts were some of the finest Foundry releases. What happened to Josef Ochmann? Is he still sculpting? |

I gotta agree with the Badger - the Foundry Aztecs are the nicest I've seen. Meybe I'll call Howard Whitehouse up and ask him what's available, and when... Anyone have his number? |

I checked out the Foundry Aztecs. They are quite nice. Also, you will get to spend $18 for 4 or 5 castings. That is when they become available for sale. |

The guy sculpting the Aztec range had a heart attack some time ago, so work on the Foundry range ceased. According to the Foundry site a number of the Aztec pre-casts or whatever they call them are already sold out. If Foundry would get their head out of their ass (better pricing or more figs per pack) I thnk they could make a lot of money off this range. |

If you can get to Ottawa, On, Canada, then go to Fandom II. They have three blisters of Foundry Aztec warriors in feathered armour. |

they have were advertising these aztecs (and mayans and incas - all painted models shown about when the vikings and conquistadors were released, mentioned then were dwarfs elves and orcs that were near completion....) about 2 or 3 years ago in WI (and i wanted them then lol), i'd put a lot of money on the fact that they won't get "properly" realeased, the sculpture left foundry (don't know why - have heard many stories, much like the many stories about foundry and "where it's all gone wrong" (though 80 rdm germans for £60 is a bargin by ne1's books... 4gorgeous spear elves for £8.50 though isn't... didn't stop me buying both tho lol). If you are looking for aztecs, tin soldier also have a largish range though they are a bit old i fear compared to foundry and eurika's quality castings but still very serviceable. |

I know that Phantom of the Attic in Pittsburgh had at least one blister pack of them if you are looking for some. Give them a call. |

I really liked Ochmanns style of sculpting. but I suspect you will never see a full range from Foundry The fact that they have been so rigid about releasing ranges and are doing'precasts' means its likely they will never see the light of day. would be interesting to know the real story with his leaving Foundry.Probably the same story as all the other sculptors that left. |

I had a very nice Aztec army back in antedeluvian days. It was by Naismith Design. The range was very complete, and is still available. It was sculpted by Bob Naismith, who is tops. They are "true 25mm". There is a truly bizarre figure, the Xipe Topec, or "Dear Flayed One", a priest wearing the newly flayed skin of a recent human sacrifice. Ral Partha also has a complete range, slightly larger. Tin Soldier is again complete and slightly larger still. And Finally, I saw Eureka's at Historicon. They are gorgeous. With the exception of Naismith Design, which are sold in packs of 3, all can be purchased individually. So, there you have 4 beautiful, complete ranges, all of which are at most half of Foundry's price. At conventions, you can pick up Ral Partha at 16.67% of Foundry prices. That's right, $.50 each. I can definitely see why one would wish to stay with Foundry, hoping against hope that they will release and complete a range which has been teased for 3 years. For my part, I have always thought that it was silly to confine myself to one manufacturer for an army. If I were to get into Aztecs again, and a Fast Warrior army is certainly tempting me, I would make it from all of the above. |

True 25 Aztecs should be o.k. with 28mm. When I was in Mexico a couple of years ago, most maya's and other indigenous people I saw were more than a head smaller than me (I'm 1.80 M.) |
