Extra Crispy, especially, I was wondering what the background is on my new Dantakhs. I liken them to mollusk/squid like beings for my sci-fi world, big on shooting, not so hot on melee, and am modifying a drop ship for 'em (a squid like drop ship) but will hold off till I get some of y'alls ideas as to who/what they are.

BTW, Crispy, thanks for not putting "Gator Fan" on my order package! Its bad enough that I order German Schietzer DVDs, but a "Gator Fan" labled box? I couldn't face my mailman after that!!! :)

Now that I see your Icon I'm beginning to regret my decision…

As for the Drantakh Story:

Now That I see YOUR icon, you'll be pleased to know I was born right after the "Ice Bowl", and thus was named after your QB!!! :) Thanks for the info ;)

Mark, thanks for posting the link.

Don't forget in another news story I reported the governmentally mandated :) spelling change to Drantak. I even changed the spelling in the "Four on Four" story.

Mark, contact me if you need restock!

And, nice stuff Regiment Games!!! :) I will spell them correctly from now on, too ;)

I noticed a "Chris Ferree" is a sculptor for some of Regiment's lines. Is that the same guy who wrote some pretty awsome rules for gaming Rorkes Drift and Isandhlwana?

I still maintain the H is the more correct spelling and am prepared to wage an intergalactic war that will make the universe of 40k look like a bad episode of Pokemon to defend it!

How cool would that be as "fluff" – a civil war has broken out among the Drantakhs. DrantaKHs versus DrantaKs in a fight to the finish! You could really end up with a hilarious 40k parody (and maybe a pretty fun game in the bargain).

I'm starting to think a Drantakhs vs Quar game would be a neat scenario.

Smokey – Yes, I think so. Chris has done a lot of colonial figures and more in his time. More recently, rules and books for The Virtual Armchair General. He is still working on the 15mm "China Sailor" line (think Sand Pebbles) for me.

OldGrenadier Fezian14 Aug 2007 6:59 p.m. PST

Given that I named them, I'm inclined to agree on the "H" :)

Smokey Roan14 Aug 2007 7:08 p.m. PST

Cool. I recommend his rules for said battles (their made for 15mm, but easily convertable). I include them for Sword and the Flame battles when applicable. I found 'em on "By Jingo" site. Great melee mechanics for a "Company" of 8-10 figures with an officer and bugler in the colonial era.

I like the "H" in the name! Put me on their "side" when the great civil war starts :)

My Drantakh mercenary crew will be retaining their H's. This Fall they may go head to head against some Spugs, Saurians, or others.

I downloaded the Drantak story, but it wasn't readable. It even crashed Acrobat 7.

Maybe it was written in Drantankanese.

Drantakhs (with an H) versus Quar (with a B)….

Drantaks are already in 5150. Quar are on the way.

LOL, don't want the [very nice]m figures (no planes) <grin> but the story was 'inspired' to say the least. Nice useful 'fluff' for the figures.

Gracias,

Glenn

who likes the figures even if he won't be buying them {no room for more 'not jets/planes and larger then 6/15 mm' figures on shelves.)

You know, that 5150 really grew on me! Great rules! Use 'em for TOS Star Trek and now will be able to game Quar and Drantakh easily. That and fast and Dirty are my basic rules for all science fiction these days. Nice work Ed :)

Anyone know who is making the Drantakh's these days? Last week my BtGoA stuff came in from the Warlord Clearance stuff and these guys would make a great allied race for the humans.
