"Forty thousand years ago, the most advanced species on Earth was wiped out by a powerful new life form
Us. Now another new species has evolved-- stronger, smarter, and dedicated to our annihilation. Leading the fight against then is Dr. Sloan Parker, the bioanthropologist who uncovered their existence. Once Again, it's survival of the fittest
and this time we are the Prey." I thought that the premise of Sapiens being replaced by a more evolved type of human was intriguing, to say the least. CC |

I like it and the sc-fi channel re ran all of the series a couple of years ago, before the went into their current decline. |

That final episode where Dr. Parker chucked it all to move to San Francisco and move in with a gay roommate just ruined the whole series for me. |

Mulopwepaul, sounds like the Sapiens lost. |

I didn't watch Prey, but it sounds a bit like Threshold or Ultraviolet (the BBC series). |

I did enjoy that show – Debra Messing never has been allowed to play a strong, sensible character since, but "prey" showed that she certainly can and make it believable to working scientists. I had some difficulkty swallowing the idea that a new race of hominids would automatically realise their difference form the Sapiens, and each other so easily; The development of a new hominid species would to my mind be more like "Nobody Bothers Gus" by Aldis Budrys, or maybe "In Hiding" by someone I do not recall at present. The premise in the series was more like Social Darwinism than natural selection. Still, I enjoyed it. |

Fox would have cancelled it after 2 episodes. And shown those 2 episodes out of order. -Will |

Will, very true. But the bit I like uis that 'Big Daddy Tank' has gone from strength to strength since, most lately in 24. |
