'Invasion' was first hyped as a remake of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers.' It was supposed to have been released late last year, but advance screenings of the film were very negative (just like the highly anticipated 'Southland Tales') and they decided to reshoot certain scenes, including a chase scene where Nicole was injured (no stunt double?) resulting in further delay. Now it's billed as a 're-imagining' (rather than a remake) of IOTBS to distance it from its predecessor. Daniel Craig (new Bond) also stars. I'm willing to give this a chance because I think this isn't the same movie it was last year. |

Nicole Kidman is rarely in bad movies. It has happened but more often her movies are something that doesn't appeal to me, like Moulin Rouge, rather than bad. I never saw Days of Thunder but I suppose that wasn't great, but I'm sure she was young and needed the money. Still she has been in some cracking movies, like Dogville, the Human Stain and the Others. I'll wait and see if this one is more like one of those or more like BMX Bandits. |

….."Nicole Kidman is rarely in bad movies"….. You obviously don't have a daughter that made you watch "Bewitched" LOL She was awful. I mean awful. Kinda pale and sickly looking too, IMO. Needs to fatten up a bit. :) I just saw a trailer, didn't impress me. Looked like, well, a cheap remake of IOTBS. And Days of Thunder, Pictor, was bad. Don't see it, unless Tom Cruise mugging for the camera is your kinda thing, which I'm betting it is not :) |

Saw the previews and all I could think of was the original Body snatchers, but not in a good way. It was more along the lines of way do we need another remake of a truly great film. Thank god Westerns are out of favor, or we would end up with a remake of "High Noon", oh wait that happened didnt it. Nothing is sacred anymore in Hollywood. I imagine it is only a matter of time before some self important director thinks to redo "Citizen Kane". Is there an original idea left in Hollywood? |

I think Rob Zombie's 'Halloween' remake should be good. It's getting the modern treatment a la 'The Hills Have Eyes' and 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.' |
