I had a can congeal like several other people have mentioned, and asked my dad about it. He said to turn the can upside down after you seal it. The polyurethane will form a seal then around the lid. So far, even after several weeks of non-use, the can still looks just fine. Thanks, Dad!

Another tip (but not from my dad)

Punch half a dozen holes in the lowest part of where the lid rests on the can, where dripped paint pools but has nowhere to go. This way, it'll drizzle back into the can and not accumulate after each opening.

Accumulated goop kept my first lid from seating well, and the contents dried out. My second can is still accumulating, but at a much slower rate. I use a screwdriver to scrape it out from time to time.

Important tip while using the Miracle Dip: buy yourself a plot on a cemetery. That thing will kill you.

I fail to see how water based polyurethane is going to kill me; it's not like I'm injecting it with a needle…
