I'm trying to be a bit more prepared for GenCon this year… packing my army in advance, leaving enough room for my diorama entry (assuming I finish it in time), and I bought one of those deep tray inserts for my Army Transport case. I also put a couple of large models in the case – a chariot, an elephant… and the foam tore off the edge along the elephant's long base.

Well, it wasn't the foam that tore, it was the seam where the flat bottom of the tray was glued to the customizable foam area.

What sort of adhesive should I use to re-attach the seam? Rubber cement?

I suppose it's not strictly necessary to reglue it, as it'll be sitting at the bottom of my Army Transport case, but I'd like to have the whole thing assembled as snugly as possible.

Thanks for any help or advice!

DO NOT USE HOT GLUE!

Why don't you email them. They're always on displaying their wares on TMP. Ask them they'd probably help.

I think Gorilla glue will do it?

There was an earlier thread here that suggested using Copydex – carpet glue. Think I'll give that a shot.

And I thought about emailing them, but I usually get answers more quickly here :)

So close and yet so far….all the way from ALASKA to INDY and I can't make the last 7 hrs to see y'all at GENCON..

'DARN'…

Oh and I come 'unglued' all the time…and if the little purple pills don't do it, industrial strength, armor-piercing concrete staples or nails work…(sometimes)..*slish…KA-CHUKSHS..ow…slish*

not sure what glue teh rubber base would take. our trays are fine with a simple elmers white glue. you could always try that I guess.

Fabri-tac.

Any craft or fabric store should have it, and it's perfect for gluing stuff like this. I've used it in places where superglues can't get hold -- on foam and synthetic fabrics.

You can use standard white glue, just place some dots of glue on the foam. Let this dry over nigth and you are fine.

Why not hot glue? It's industry standard for porous foam adhesion.

I used some white PVA wood glue on mine. All seems to be going well at this stage.
