Last Sunday we played a game in order to give the forces we will take to Alcoy a first fire experience.
It was a game 1.500 points, French vs. Allied (British and Spanish) forces
Allied player was a green one, but the French was Ventura, one of our designer.
I took some pics during the game that I will insert in this report.

The British General, unconfidence of the Spanish reports dedided not to advance the Spanish Division, and he had to battle in a very unfavourable terrain with a long and thin line of battle, deployng the main British Division on his left wing, in a village

And the Spanish, supported by some Light Dragoons, to his right

linking both forces with two more small british divisions.

Knowing the weakness of Allied deployment, advise from his vanguard

picture

the French General threw his main attack against the Spanish force, pinning the rest of British with two small divisions

And the battle commenced…

First artillery rounds from the French vanguard

picture

And first British casualties!

Thee brave Spaniards hold up the first blow

Meanwhile, British Light Dragoons have an unbalanced duel against the French Cavalry

Now it is too late for the slow moving British Infantry to counter attack the Frenchies

Because they have just started to take the Spanish holded village

White coated infantrymen shakes and finally flees from the field

French Leader shows off the Spanish village main square. Battle is lost, but not the War: soon Wellesley will arrive from Great Britain in order to support the Spanish people better than this clumsy General!

I hope you like.

Battle lasted 90 mnutes.

Tidy.

Like the figures, and the paint jobs on em, too. Wouldn't've thought of 20mm for Napoleonics, but they do look good.

Nice paint jobs, good report, thanks!

This is how battle reports are done.
Great pics.

Cheers!

I really like those 20mm figures. Nice proportions to the figures, good poses, and nice paint jobs. Well done!

Mmm, mmm, that looks good.

Excellent figures (but I'm already committed to 15mm).

Excellent painting.

Excellent photography.

If I did not have a huge 28mm collection ,I think the 20 mm of those in the pictures would have been the way to go.
But , love those big boys though!

Thanks very much. Where were you when I was switching to 15mm 15 years ago?
Please show us other reports in the future.
regards
max

@ Maxshadow:

We were playing 15mm…
We were "converted" to 20mm in 2.000, when we put our nicely painted 15mm army besides a "not so nicely painted" and we were unable to distinguish one of another at about 1 foot distance, on the table.
