A few days ago I received my order from Reinforcements By Post. It was the first time I have ever used a painting service, having been recommended it by many reviews on this website. Even though I had seen photos online I was very eager to see the models in person. I was not disappointed. Inside were a dozen parcels bound tightly in newspaper, each one containing six models meticulously wrapped in tissue paper. Taking them out I found that there was no damage to the miniatures, nor any chipping of the paint jobs.

And what paint jobs! From the pictures on the website I expected them to be good, but holding them in my hand and seeing them on my own tabletop, it was obvious that they were much better than the photos had promised. I had paid extra (50p a model) for chevrons on the NCOs and these looked especially fantastic.

A reason I had decided to go with Reinforcements By Post over other companies was because they promised total accuracy with regards to uniforms. I gave the instructions in a Word document are they were followed to the letter. Neil Kenneally (known as Chortle on these boards) was very helpful. He was quick to reply to any queries I had, usually within twelve hours and updated me frequently on what was going on with my order. I could tell he is really focused on bringing the customer the best painted models he can and has a lot of enthusiasm for his work.

I should also mention the prices of the service – 86p per 25/28mm model for regular infantry painted to Connoisseur standard is great, especially when the end product is so appealing to the eye.

I am struggling to actually find any constructive criticism that could be used to help improve the service. I can only think of two minor things. First, allow UK customers to pay by PayPal as well as by direct bank transfer. It is much more of a hassle to walk to the bank and stand around in the long queue at lunchtime than it is to simply pay at your own PC. Second, take better pictures of the models for the website; you are not doing the fine paint jobs enough justice in my opinion!

I was so impressed with the service that I'm already planning another two orders – another one of American Civil War troops and one French and Indian War models. I advice anyone who wants their models painted to a high standard for a very reasonable price to check them out.

Keep up the good work Chortle!

My apologies, I should have included a link to the painted models that appear on the Reinforcements By Post site.

Interesting. They are doing some 25mm figures for TMP – I hope to see them soon and report back…

I have had excellent service from them. They were very helpful, and the figures were beautiful 6mm War of Spanish Succession.
