Dear All

I'm looking to put together a 15mm Seige of Peking game on a 1:1 scale. I've been looking for the number of 'Great Power' combatants in the seige, but have found nothing – any of you clever types have any numbers?

Also, I'd like to put together all of the contingents from one range, does anyone know of any manufacturers that produce a substantial boxer rebellion range in 15mm

Thanks

Old Glory 15's has a nice Boxer Rebellion range:

oldglory15s.com

Irregular also has suitable figures and guns:

irregularminiatures.co.uk

There are certainly more, you may wish to look at the manufacturers database at the 15mm Early 20th Century group at:

As to the specifics of the Great Power combatants, what info are you looking for specifically? BTW, Osprey has Peking 1900 in their Campaign series that is IMHO a must for anyone wishing to do the siege:

The Men at Arms on the Boxer Rebellion is also useful, and will provide you with further info and uniform details:

Great thanks for those.

Specifically I'm looking for the number of Great Powers 'regulars' who were in the embassy enclave during the Peking Siege, but if posible I'd also like a number for fighting civilians if indeed there were any.

Thanks

IIRC Frontier had a set with the civilians

Frontier and Old Glory 15mm are the main ones that I use. For additional Chinese troops Falcom by Quartermaster also has a 19th century range.

Also for additional civilians some Victorian SciFi such as by Brigade makes an assortment of adventurers which will work as civilians

"I'm looking to put together a 15mm Seige of Peking game on a 1:1 scale."

1:1 scale??? You do realise, I presume, that there were 507 Legation Guards from the 8 Great Powers? And how many thousand Boxer / Chinese figures are you going to use?

This might help: link

Thanks Mike

Some useful numbers on that site.

I've ordered the osprey book rcommended by cold warrior.

1:1 well ambition is a good thing :-). Though you may be right and I'll drop down to 1:2 certainly no smaller though.
As for the Chinese I'll probably look at some 1:72 plastics for them or see if I can pick up anything cheap on e-bay

If I recall, the Osprey "men at arms" book clearly lists the troop numbers of each of the great powers present.

Unfortunatly I borrowed it from a friend some years ago so don't have it to hand to pass the information on.

Sorry

lancashiregames.com

Lancashire makes a Boxer range in 15's including dismounted cavalry and European and Chinese civilians. Falcon makes Taiping Rebellion in 15's including a good Tigerman figure.

Don't use the plastic if you're planning on 15mm. I'm working on a plastic/20mm Boxer Rebellion project at the moment and the Orion Boxers would tower over any 15s on the table.

I've a couple of sources that list all the Western troops including naming the officers. I'll post the data this evening when my flight gets back.
