Hi!
I have found a free rule set for Samurai Warfare Rules, based on The Rules According to Ral.

PDF link

It looks simple enough for a first try with Samurai Warfare, but I would like to hear some opinions from someone who have used it.

My best /lars

We've used the original; Medieval Rules by Ral for many, many years and find they very easy to learn and very enjoyable.

There are a number of battle reports as well as the rules themselves (with our in-house modifiactions) posted on our groups web site. Just click on Pictures of Games (in center button panel) and scroll down to Medieval period. For the rules, click on the rules button and scroll down.

Played em at a con back in the 80's. Seem to remember them being fast but fun.

Thanks Guys.

Jim, Really interesting link. I'll spend a few hours browsing your site!

Best regards/Lars

Updated link for the Samurai Warfare Rules, based on The Rules According to Ral that I used to run at Gen Con and Little Wars back in the 80s:

The link in the posting above is invalid.

Here's a current link for the 15MM SAMURAI WARFARE RULES based on "The Rules According to Ral" game rules by Ral Partha from the 1980s:

Ah, thanks for digging up a fresh link!

I've long enjoyed Rules According to Ral, my favourite medievals rules of all time. If my current Test of Honour minis collection ever expands enough, it will be good having the Samurai edition on hand!

Arggh, and Wargames Atlantic's new 10mm plastics just got a bit more tempting…

Even better

I still have my original yellow fold-out sheet rules by RP.
