Whoa

Too Cool

Mr Canuck25 May 2007 1:51 p.m. PST

Wow! Pretty wild stuff!
Although, I'd say they are more like Ghouls than Zombies. They move awfully quick for "traditional" Zombies.

I've watched it a couple of times now and I still can't tell how they did the 'swarm' effect…??? You see the gunman go down, the attackers swarm in, and only the gunman's body parts come out…?? Very well done!

Lowtardog25 May 2007 1:54 p.m. PST

If you watch very closely the last ghoul takes the main part of the body (including long coat waya I think they must have stopped the filming some how or possibly the runner becomes one of the ghouls. need to watch again and count them :0)

oh, and the sounds in the helo as it starts to spin…

Shark Six Three Zero25 May 2007 2:15 p.m. PST

How come the zombies are showing up on IR and giving off heat?

Lowtardog25 May 2007 2:27 p.m. PST

aww, you spoilt it now :0)

Dr Mathias Fezian25 May 2007 3:02 p.m. PST

Interesting

SBminisguy25 May 2007 3:03 p.m. PST

yes, Sockrowttt, perhaps the "zombies" should have been wearing something to dampen their IR signature…

Warmaster Horus25 May 2007 3:26 p.m. PST

perhaps rage infected? i feel sorry for whatever contry those chaps call home :P

Warmaster Horus25 May 2007 3:27 p.m. PST

contry=country

Irish Marine25 May 2007 3:55 p.m. PST

Sounds Russian to me.

Warmaster Horus25 May 2007 4:18 p.m. PST

yeah the ".ru" at the bottom of the screen led me to believe thats where it "originated"

darthfozzywig25 May 2007 4:52 p.m. PST

Very cool.

Sumo Boy25 May 2007 5:37 p.m. PST

If the zombies are recently (un)dead, they'll still be warm. It takes a while for a body to cool off in temperate conditions.

Shark Six Three Zero25 May 2007 5:41 p.m. PST

Sci Fi guys can explain anything

Broadsword25 May 2007 6:03 p.m. PST

Well, in Sci Fi, it should take a bit more effort to explain something than: "it's magic. Deal with it." Of course, how many times can one "reverse the polarity" or modulate something? ;)

I like the sound effect of one of the observers vomiting at the end. Nice touch.

Captain Apathy25 May 2007 6:36 p.m. PST

The link in the video is dead now (www.zonesecurity.ru) but it was a viral video ad for the video game Stalker: the Shadow of Chernobyl. I think the bad guys were supposed to be mutants.

There was a cut just before he goes down to explain how the effect worked ..happens fast but clearly a new shot.

Von Baron26 May 2007 12:54 a.m. PST

Very 28 Weeks later 'Infected' type non-zombie things

combatpainter Fezian26 May 2007 5:26 a.m. PST

Disconcerting stuff! Does anyone know where exactly it happened??? DO the authorities have it contained. Those are obviously fast zombies.

brambledemon26 May 2007 7:20 a.m. PST

That was very well done!

Stryker0126 May 2007 2:09 p.m. PST

I thought it was real. -TJ

kallman26 May 2007 2:50 p.m. PST

That was a little too real. (shiver)

Mr Canuck26 May 2007 11:34 p.m. PST

"…There was a cut just before he goes down to explain how the effect worked ..happens fast but clearly a new shot…"

Yeah, there was a cut to a close-up shot, but I think the gunman is still "live" in the close-up – then he just 'goes to pieces!' :)

Either way, it's still a great piece of work!

kokigami26 May 2007 11:57 p.m. PST

my theory is that post close up, the gunman is a kid on a box, and is carried off by the last zombie.

Ditto Tango 2 127 May 2007 11:27 a.m. PST

Really excellent stuff!

bandit8627 May 2007 10:14 p.m. PST
