This message came to the Johnny Reb Gaming Society, and I am passing it along to interested gamers! I am working on a new television series for HGTV called Man Land. It is about places in the home that men carve out for themselves such as the shed, basement, attic or garage in order to house their passion project – in the case of you and your colleagues, I'm looking for a war gaming room. Here is how we are describing the program: Man Land, a new series for HGTV is about places in the home that men carve out for themselves such as the shed, basement, attic or garage. We are looking for rooms and spaces that men have turned into temples of Maleness, Mecca's of Macho, in short, Man Land. We'll explore this private world and also talk to the women who live just outside these caves. We'll find out what they think and see how their relationships have gotten better
or worse because of Man Land. Simply, we are looking for guy-spaces that look really cool, are really outrageous and really unique. If we are wowed by your Man Land, we would come out with a small crew (4-6 people) for one day. Our shoots are easy-going and fun. We would profile the room, talk to the man who built it about his inspiration for the room and how he put it together. We also would want to talk to the woman in his life about what it is like having a Man Land in their house. Can you help me to get the word out to your colleagues? I am looking for guys who have outfitted the ultimate home war gaming room to appear on our show. Please have any interested gamers contact me at 8183824312 or write me at this email address. Thanks so much for your help. You have a great site! Ronda Berkeley LMNO Productions 8183824312 |

My wife loves HGTV, especially Mission Organization. But it's only one number away from the History channel. So, when she leaves the room, it miraculously switches channels. |

Note. Someone of my acquaintance used to direct 'reality' TV programs. His conclusion on the experience: never let a TV crew in your house. |

Now if they'd send some contractors to help me finish my Man Land THAT I'd like! I'd even let them film it. |

Ask what the compensation is and what their insurance covers. And don't forget to factor in you tax liability. And lastly, understand that what the camera sees, what the director makes it see, what the editor decides it didn't see, and what actually happened are all four entirely different and at times contradictory things. You may think the day passed splendidly, and that you presented yourself as calm, rational, perfectly normal and indeed interesting— a credit to the hobby, They may decide that you are a clueless geek (whether you were or not), leave all the calm and rational bits on the cutting room floor (or digital hard drive), and present you as the least appealling individual they can make you out to be— because it's all about the ratings! So if you're willing to risk all that, I say, "Go for it!" |

Well my game room is more a shrine to Military History. Nothing really notworthy in the way of unique but a lot of books, prints and wargame stuff. It does have a large refigerator, fireplace, Big Screen TV and a desk that is 4 feet by 6 feet, oh plus the wargame table that is 6 by 8. VR James Mattes |

Let me know if y'all find some really gorgeous,efficient,fun- to-work and-play-in areas. It won't matter to me that they'll be profiled as existing in 'Man Land'. I can hijack their ideas for a "Person's Playground". (IF I can get my beloved house troll to move enough of the potential terrain, unpainted figures, rule sets, games and other supplies to reach the outlets and hook up the t.v
