After seeing this, I think I may end up saving lots of bottles and other junk: link I particularly like the shuttle-like craft in Part 4 of that series: link CC |

Hey CC you can always say you are saving the environment by re-cycling |

CC --- a cautionary note regarding recycling projects of this sort. The item you are recycling will always be around when you need it. Voice of experience here, collecting #10 tin cans for Boy Scouts --- fire buckets for around all the tents at troop campouts, and various Cub Scout projects. After parking myself at the dumpasters after lunch at the local middle school for a while, I realized I had enough cans to assure the inflamitility of every Boy Scout in three counties and supply every Cub Scout within 150 miles with a pair of "puddle jumpers", and STILL wouldn't be able to get my car in the garage! In an word --- DON'T DO IT!!! :) |

I've got a few boxes worth of future projects in my garage. Someday.. btw, that OP link is great. I recall seeing it a year or so ago posted here on TMP. Thanks for posting it again. I really like the art theory lesson described to achieve the look. |

All Sci-Fi miniature gamers should have a "parts box". I have several containers filled with plastic/PVC crud. Every so often, I find a part that is perfect for some strange purpose. All this randon stuff allows me to brain storm in my own basement. |

I've got two large-ish boxes full of 'terrain' stuff: bottles, cereal box card, small pie tins, plastic things, card cylinders of all sizes (oatmeal and grits canisters), etc. Lots of corrugated cardboard from lightbulb boxes – I'm going to have one hell of a shanty-town. The best part is that my wife, before she throws any sort of packaging away, asks if it's something I can use or not. |

What a great link. Thanks. I just checked by bottle supply. Looks like I'll need more! |

My wife says she is going to clean out my game room while I am out of town. My reply was that, if she did, I would do the same to her closets when she was out of town. So, I think my junk is safe for now. :) CC |

Captain Apathy, Well, I had to say something! :) I left home about 10 days ago and, as far as I know (and I have a well-paid spy, in miniatures mind you), all my stuff has been left untouched. CC |

Motainai ("Too Good To Waste"). It is an art that we do here, not mere "junk collecting" as the uninitiated would believe.. Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |
