It's my daughter's birthday! My son gave her a Queen Amidala figure (her favourite Star Wars character)

Well…let's see…YESTERDAY, the 3rd was 'National Prayer Day'….(nobody tells me these things…)…and today is Star Wars Day…and tomorrow is 'Cinco de Mayo'…

We need one of those calendars that shows ALL the 'months'…and 'days'…Like National Pickle Month, etc…

We'll put it up in the Lounge so that since it's always 5 o'clock SOMEWHERE/Happy Hour…we can 'toast' to the 'event of the day/week/month'…every day…Since no-one seems to be 'prioritizing'/responsible for making sure no 'overlaps' on days/months etc…I think it only 'fair' that ALL holidays, events, recognition days be listed simultaneously for every day/month of the year.

Not only is it more 'PC'…but a good excuse to have a 'party'…and more than just an 'UN-Birthday'…etc..

So where do we find that sort of thing out…for every day/month of the year??? Any ideas???

Carpe' Tentacle'um of the party favor concessions…

Is this for real? How about Hobbit day?

Smokey Roan04 May 2007 1:10 p.m. PST

"Cinco de Mayo" sucks. Corona and even Bud took it over as a corporate "made up holiday". They have no idea what it is (briefly, Mexican militia won two skirmishes over heavily outnumbered FFL, then lost the "war", and when they did in fact regain independence, used the date of Camerone and Puebla because those were their best performance (besides stringing up Maxemillian, that was good). Hell, here in S FL, I've never seen any Cinco de Mayo revellers at real, real Mexican saloons, only at "Friday's" and such.
I will of course drink Tecate because I'm a Mexican (just not hispanic) and I built the damn battle in 1/72 scale. (everyone asks why the "arabs" look like Mexicans?? (FFL surrounded in adobe hut, and they assume I'm using Mexican figures 'cause their cheaper than Saudi's or something?? (Yeah, I went to the hobby shop, and found 'em at the 1/72 scale Home Depot model :) :) :)

I'll have to watch my DVD's of "Son of the Beach" as Luke guest starred in several episodes as a cult leader who gives LSD laced muffins to hot beach babes (you don't need three guesses as to what he does next). Funny, he evidently enjoyed the role and really hammed it up. I'll have to watch "Chekov"'s episode when he plays evil Russian Admiral "Boris Sukitov" to keep the Classic Sci Fi, "Son of the Beach" theme
