I'm looking for bases for villagers and the like. I was thinking cobblestone texture would work well. I'm using 1" round bases for non-combatants and 20mm square bases for combatants. Think GW slottabase. Thanks for any suggestions Cheers, Xin

Heresy makes flagstone bases. You could check out their stuff and see if it will fit your needs. |

We have some here too: link Designed to fit into round and square 25mm bases. You could easily cut the sqaure ones down to fit on 20mm bases

I recommend this ebay shop: auction Round and square cobblestone bases in a variety of sizes. Also the chipped brick might work for you. |

Epicast makes cobblestones I think. |

Find the pattern you like -- my preferences these days are a textured sheet of styrene from the railroad model supply shop (my floors to the Mines of Moria), a sidewalk made of my Hirst bricks (the ramparts of Minas Tirith), and the floor of the tower off my Mumak (er, the floor of my Mumak tower). Press some Sculpy into the desired surface. Pinch the top to make a custom made finger-and-thumb handle. Wiggle it loose from the parent texture. Bake. Take a glob of epoxy putty, slap it on your desired base. Dip your reversed impression in water, then press onto the glob to make the impression on top of your base. Let dry long enough to firm up, then use a sharp knife to clean up the edges of your base. Voila! |

Unless you sculpted it yourself, wouldn't that be piracy? I mean making a mold of another company's base or Evergreen "pre-made" sheet styrene is piracy right? Now if you cut out styrene into stones and glued them inplace on a separate surface, and then cast them, that would be ok. |

No it wouldn't be piracy: they are materials sold specifically for the purpose of being constructed into *something else* (thus to all intents and purposes they are royalty/IP-free when used on those terms). It would only be piracy if you copied the entire sheet and then reproduced that sheet of material *as-is* and not in another format/material. |

I believe Iain at Hobbybox is working on some – I may be wrong. He sent me some sample bases a while back to take a look at (they were very nice) and we had a chat about possible styles that he may do. |

"Unless you sculpted it yourself, wouldn't that be piracy?" As I'm often too quick to point out at the gaming table, if mine offend then we can always use yours instead. |
