The animals were interesting, but in the words of the article writer, the article itself is "phenomenally moronic". Better just to go to the King Kong site directly. kingkong.com |

Hey, check this out: picture Isn't that when Smeagol met a not-quite-an-inch worm? CC CC

The giant leech-tapeworms can be represented by several critters already in production. The Purple Worms produced by WotC (in the "War of the Dragon Queen" set) or by Reaper will do for the dinosaur threatening ones, while some creative work with GW's Chaos Flamers of Tzeentch should produce a good likeness for smaller threats. Just don't post pictures please. The idea of repainting the WotC Purple Worm (already rather phallic) in shades of fleshy pink just doesn't appeal. |

Heresy recently released some excellent worm-critters that will work perfectly as Meat-Weasels. I kind of like the name – I have a zombie character in Urban Dead named Meat Weasel. |

Reaper has a mini 'purple worm' in it's familiar's collection I believe
that has a 'tri-petal mouth'
and I got one of the D&D ones
(sorta expensive)
but did snag some 'on sale' kong critters
and with the flex-sculpy
(that I use to make 'tentacled things' with)
I'm working on my own 'graboid-type' things for a 'Perfection Nevada' horrorclix campaign. IF you followed the short-lived series at all, you know that the 'mixmaster' dna/chem/bio-thing could cause all sorts of 'mutations'
so making a 'graboid/worm-thing' or tapeworm thing for 'Skull Island' or any pulp adventure
isn't THAT hard to do
I'm going to be trying some things over next two weeks and will post images to my displaced minis page
I'm going to use some aluminum foil over cardboard small diameter tubes and such
to see what I can come up with
(without using SOLID chunks of material for the 'core'
I also am going to try some of that 'crayola' airdry stuff
to see how it works
If nothing else, it might help with some landscape details being lightweight??? and I agree with Alxbates
'Meat Weasel' just sounds 'cool'
for a lot of things
(except deceased nigerian oil ministry members or their families
those I use for 'pulp' names of NPC's
. 8-) Stay tuned
I'll let folks know what I come up with
I'm also going to Kong site for some more images to use as reference!!! Carpe' tentacle'um! Sgt DWW-bartentacle on duty

Sgt Tenti, A quick, easy, light weight build up giant worm technique is to make your basic form with damp toilet paper (wrung out) and form the foil over that. Make a bunch and get your landscape board ready also. Make a hole in one end, pull out most of the paper (it will stick making fleshy bumps that primer can adheadr to), if you want you can make it damp again with a spray bottle and shake in some dirt (this will make a great texture for the skin and the foam will mostly let go of the foil after),fill it partially (50%) with the single expansion foam in a can (Mega Mart $3.50-4.00USD). Use the rest of the can for your hills, making the outline of where you want them, moving on to the next, etc.. then come back and fill with layers of foam. Use tooth picks as it is curing to pull up peaks. You can use toilet paper rolls as your mesa structures, just bead the foam around the tube. One can of foam: 4x4' board of hills, 12-15 giant worms Weeee foamy goodness, $5 USD |

I'm just glad he didn't make fun of the Rottweiler-sized crickets that attack the group at one point in the film . . . They are animated enlarged female Wetas, the only flightless cricket on the planet and a unique NZ beast. Still, I do like some of those myself, and the "Meat Weasels" are an intriguing idea. |

link Bloodsucker. Growth experiment leech. (warning, the following comment is colored with Frother's like disregard for things that are not really good) (I am sorry for having an opinion, please do not hate me for it) I can see where the, I want to say sculptor but there is something holding me back, hmmm
anyway I can see where the person who made this miniature was going with it. And had they spent more than the 3-4 minutes it took from start to finish to make it, there may be something nice to say. I can honestly say that this miniature rates just below the classic "cloaker", and that miniature was just terrible. Looking at that miniature has hurt my eyes like looking at the sun, at noon, while standing on a mountain, along the equator. Yikes
it looks like a 3 graders' attempt at playdo poo. |
