Say, what you can tell us about these rules? If they're halfway decent, I might bid on them.

I love that game! The only reason I have any microarmor at all is because of T&S. Elegant, simple, fast and fun.

Jeifheff – the rules are a "beer and prezels" microarmor tank rumble. In truth it's been a few years since I've played, but here's what I remember.

Each side gets a number of colored chits in a cup – drawn them out, and when your color comes up you can activate one tank that has not been activated. When active, the tank must move, turn its turret and then shoot if it hasn't already fired in reaction. Damage is penetration based.

The game plays quite quickly with a platoon of tanks per side. It's not a very detailed game, though there is a rather extensive list of vehicles and ratings. There are rules for infantry and aircraft, and though we never played with them, they seemed sensible and in keeping with the basic flow of the game.

Thanks, Lugal! That's what I wanted to know.

Hi guys…*Blush*…, yes it's my game. I designed it in the early 80's just because I had the ideas. I wasn't trying to come up with a better gaming system, just something that we could play. The owners of a local game store "Mind Games" like it and published it for me (along with 3 other local games). The game was played a lot in Toledo area gaming conventions, it is simple, fast, fun. Gets the job done in a 4 hours convention gaming slot. It's detailed enough that "Old Guys" like me old fart don't feel they are wasting their time, but simple enough that they can bring their 10 year old to the table and give them a thrill. (Nothing better than a 10 year old laughing at an "Old Guy" when he just destroyed one of his tanks with a really lucky shot thumbs up).

One of the local game clubs I was involved with used to play VERY extensive games of T&S. HUGE numbers of tanks and Infantry, and to be honest, they were some of the best Micro Armor games I've played in.

Anyway, as Lugal described, the game is chit activated, every player has the same amount of chits in a container. This number is equal for all players to avoid a "Snowball" effect when you start losing vehicles. When your chit is drawn, you activate a unit and do something. When all the chits are drawn, the new number of chits per player is figured, they are placed in a cup, and the next turn starts.

This is how AT combat works (I'm just making the numbers).

You shoot at me, the range is 23 inches. At a range of 20-25 inches you hit (and penetrate) on a d20 roll of 13 or less. Get out the angle wheel (8 possible angles: Front, Front Angle, Side, Rear Angle, Rear) and find the modifier. There are a few other modifiers for movement, concealment, etc. You come up with a final "To Hit" number of 12. Roll the d20, on a 12 or less you've hit and penetrated. 13 or more, for some reason, you missed. Next consult the Damage Table and roll a d10 (modifiers for gun size here) and see if you've had no effect, tracked me, taken out the main gun, or killed me.

That's it. There are Infantry rules, and Air rules too. It all works pretty well.

If anyone is interested, throw me a private message and I can see if Mind Games has any copies laying around the store.

PzGeneral – thanks for writing T&S! I think it's not an exaggeration to say that T&S got me into historical gaming. (Previously I was all about BTech and Heavy Gear)

It was certainly the "benchmark" for my wife when it came to how complicated a game was. As in, "Ok, but if it's not as easy as T&S, I'm not interested…." :-)
