Not entirely sure where to post this, but these photographs are amazing
I'm still speechless
One site is in Russian
link This one is in English
. loc.gov/exhibits/empire There are more pics on the Russian-language site, but you can search the Library's archives from the English-language one and get access to a trove of photos. The Borodino pics (taken before the 1912 monument explosion :-)) were of particular interest, as I was there last year and took quite a number of photos. wow

Thank you, Jeff! I didn't read the text of the English site at length, but it is very interesting how today's technology can make RGB color images out of BW photos. |

Remarkable. By the way, it isn't exactly modern technology making color from B/W. The genius Russian photographer developed his own color photography technology before 1905 ! The images are black and white negatives, shot through color filters. |

Simply one of the most amazing things I've ever seen! Do any other 3 color plate photos exists for other time periods or geo areas? Does anyone know of any similar photos? |
