"Do You Use the Same Terrain for Different Scales?" Topic

Hills are generally hills. Roads might fit a couple of scales, as might (some) trees. Fields with no boundaries maybe, but size matters. Houses for skirmishing need to be at least figure scale, but for battles maybe a bit smaller(!). So, as ever, it's complicated.

The poll questions says "different" scales while the response list "all" scales. I use the same terrain for different scales. I do not use the same terrain for all scales.

I use my hills for all scales but rivers/streams I use only for a few scales. I do 15mm & 25/28mm mainly with a few 6mm armies.

Other = mostly the terrain is for each scale, but there's a lot of things that can cross-over.

There should be an option of some……As many have pointed out, some items are very generic, others not so much.

As noted, rivers, roads and hills scale up or down better than trees, bridges and buildings, and while I might use the same trees in 6mm and 10mm, they are not invited to the same 2mm and 28mm games.

I'd say the most frequent reuse is watercourses--streams/rivers--with appropriate changes in associated roads and bridges.

I have a separate set of terrain for 28mm, but use largely the same for 6mm, 10mm, and 15mm.

(Some of the terrain for smaller scales could be used for 28mm without looking out of place, but I'm simply not in the habit of doing so.)

I play 28mm fantasy, and 54mm Army Men games. Roads are NOT interchangeable… Hills and rivers are mostly interchangeable. LOL!

Kind of a strange poll. I get the intent, but the execution could have been better with more specific options to explain what does/does not cross over between scales. Cheers!
