Let me begin my update with this. It has come to my attention that there is a rumor out there that, "Sergeants 3 no longer has The Sword and The Flame available". HOW that rumor came about, I have no idea, but allow me to dispel that rumor with a few words and the help of a verbal Martini-Henry (with some guts behind it!). IT IS AVAILABLE, AND SO ARE THE VARIANTS. CEASE AND DESIST WITH THE RUMOR.
The wargaming community CONTINUES to be a wonderful supportive group of guys as my late sister, Lori Brom, has always told me. They rallied around us when our mother, Sara Brom, died in November, 2000 of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), when our father, Larry Brom, died in November, 2015 from congestive heart failure. And, sadly, I found it out even more when my beloved sister died from cardiac arrest on January 23, 2023. I continue to relive that moment on a Monday afternoon when paramedics and firemen (I don't even remember calling 911) tried to revive my sister after she collapsed. She wasn't meant to survive, and I still miss her terribly.
I wish I could post the name of each and every gamer who continues to be patient (some from last year) e.g. to their order being processed and shipped out, but I can't. You all know who you are, and you continue to have my undying gratitude for your patience and understanding during this continuing legal process with Lori's estate and the other issues I'm still facing since she died. I've received some heartwarming feedback from a lot of you and I thank you for your concern and support.
The Sword and The Flame 40th+ is currently being worked on, have no fear, it will be released in the future. I'm in contact periodically with the top-notch group of gamers that are working on it, a couple of them are the original play testers of the original issue. There will be some additions, and a surprise or two, but, believe me, no major changes to the layout will be done and the classic cover art will basically stay the same….Lori and I figured, why ‘fix' something that is NOT broken, nor why change something that is STILL recognizable after 40+ years? (smile)
Again, as for selling The Sword and The Flame? Dad didn't want us to, he said to keep it in the family and I have every intention of doing that. The Brom family bought the rights back some years ago, so, it's safe and sound, thanks to our attorney in North Carolina who assisted us in acquiring them. There could be some more variants in the future as I continue going through more files and finding rough drafts that Dad was apparently working on. I will continue on with Dad's and Lori's legacy of The Sword and The Flame, Sergeants 3 and with my humanitarian efforts with CJD Aware!
Lastly, as I continue going through the grieving process since my beloved sister's death last year, I understand there are some members from The Miniatures Page who are having some troubling times as well. Please know each of you are in the thoughts and prayers of ALL the Brom family during this difficult time, we wish you all the best and hope things will improve for all of us in the future.
Join me, and let's pick up some MORE dice and keep rolling!!!
