Checkout this version of a Sand Pebbles like battle on the Yangtze. Using a modified TSATF and Gunboat & Dhow Rules to conduct this fun battle.

Very nice indeed. My late friend Bob Duncan would have been delighted.

Looks like a great game. I'm sure Larry would have been thrilled by the action.

Of all the 'games inspired by films' that I haven't done, this was probably top of my list.

Sigh!

I have an entire shelf of 28mm gunboats and junks collecting dust for years,,,.

Mega ditto to "advocate". Like "troop wo"I have a model of the Sand Pebbles., And all those beautiful Murch pulp figures. But, alas, I have no junks. Those are wonderful. The whole set up is fantastic. I would love to do that game.

Thanks for all of your kind words. I had a blast putting on these battles and looking forward to this years gaming season.

Currently, I am working on my next project(s), one of which takes me into WWI actions focusing on the Tigris Campaigns. At the moment, I have a "Fly Class" hull and deck being constructed in the "boatyard." Once I get more done on the build I will share the progress in my next blog. See you then.

I actually made my junks out of MDF craft kits and they were perfect for 28mm figures. I wish I remembered the brand.

I have some updating to do but here are some of my boats. I converted these from my Dhow deck plans.

Funny, I'm listening to the Sand Pebbles soundtrack while I came across this post

I was lucky enough to join this game at the HMGS-South's HurriCon-23 in Kissimmee Fl. It was huge fun and a beautiful spectacle. Dan runs a tight ship, LOL, honestly it was a great game with great people.

Great looking!

"So this battle is much more "Hollywood" but still retains the feel of the period in my humble opinion. So let's get on with it."

Considering the whole thing is fiction, it has to be all Hollywood. Both the book and movie are a work of fiction. So don't apologize for it not being historically correct because it never happened. I love the movie and want to game it myself.
